The Head of Purchases will be responsible for leading Wallbox’s global purchasing strategy, with a strong focus on electronic components and key materials for EV chargers. This role is critical to ensuring cost competitiveness, supply continuity, quality, and scalability in a fast-growing and highly dynamic environment.

The position will drive strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, risk management, and cost optimization, working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sourcing: Define and execute the global purchasing and sourcing strategy aligned with Wallbox’s growth and industrial roadmap.
  • Electronics Category Management: Lead procurement of electronic components (PCBs, semiconductors, power electronics, connectors, cables, sensors, etc.) specifically for EV chargers.
  • Supplier Negotiation & Contracts: Manage and negotiate strategic supplier agreements, including pricing, lead times, capacity commitments, and long-term contracts.
  • Risk Mitigation: Develop and maintain a robust supplier base, implementing dual-sourcing and risk-mitigation strategies.
  • Cost Optimization: Lead cost-reduction initiatives through should-cost analysis, value engineering, and strategic negotiation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration (NPI): Partner with Engineering and Industrialization teams during New Product Introduction (NPI) to ensure cost efficiency, material availability, and manufacturability.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor global market trends (semiconductors, electronics, raw materials) and proactively anticipate supply chain risks.
  • Compliance & ESG: Ensure purchasing processes comply with quality, ESG, and sustainability standards.
  • Team Leadership: Build, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global purchasing team.
  • KPI Management: Track and report key purchasing metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, OTIF (On-Time, In-Full), lead times, and risk indicators.

Required Experience & Background

  • Experience: 10+ years of proven experience in Purchasing, Procurement, or Strategic Sourcing within international environments.
  • Industry Expertise: Strong background in electronics or industrial components (power electronics, PCBs, connectors, cables, semiconductors).
  • Negotiation Track Record: Proven experience in complex supplier negotiation and continuous cost optimization.
  • Global Supply Chain: Deep experience working with international suppliers and managing global supply networks.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to work cross-functionally and influence teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Finance.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong data-driven, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated experience managing, mentoring, or coordinating purchasing teams.
  • Languages: Fluent in English + Spanish
