We’re looking for a Head of Public Policy, Benelux to join Snap Inc. As a member of the EU Public Policy team, the role reports to the Director Public Policy EU. You will be responsible for the public policy and government relations work across the Benelux region, with a particular focus on the Netherlands.  Working from our office in Amsterdam, you will co-design, and execute the implementation of the public policy plan for relevant markets. Benelux is a key region for Snap and our relationships with the governments and other key public stakeholders are of the utmost importance. Ensuring that Snap’s distinctive voice is heard and accommodated in policy-making circles will be a key priority.

The Head of Public Policy is co-responsible for development of positions on key local and regional policy issues impacting Snap and for developing effective strategies to achieve policy outcomes and mitigate risk.  This person will work closely with the rest of the Global Public Policy team, wider Legal team, regional Sales teams, the Communications team, Platform Integrity and Product teams and, on occasion, senior business executives to ensure the public policy program supports business growth and protects the company’s interests.  

What you’ll do:

• • Serve as Snap’s primary public policy representative in the Benelux region. Cultivate and deepen relationships with regulators, government officials, NGOs, trade associations, and key stakeholders.
  • Produce high-quality policy analysis, briefing notes, consultation responses, legislative summaries, stakeholder mapping, advocacy materials and executive briefing documents to support internal decision-making and external engagement.
  • Support the development of Snap's policy positions by conducting research, coordinating cross-functional input and drafting advocacy papers, consultation responses, talking points, meeting briefs and other policy materials.
  • Contribute to EU policy work by monitoring regulatory developments, shaping policy and advocacy positions, and coordinating closely with the Brussels Public Policy team. Regular travel to Brussels is expected to support EU priorities and engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with Legal and Business teams to analyse legislative initiatives, advise on risks and opportunities, and develop company policy positions and messaging.
  • Work closely with the Director of EU Public Policy, the Senior Director of EMEA Public Policy, the VP of Global Public Policy, local sales leadership, and on occasion, the senior executive organization.
  • Partner with the Communications team to help them appropriately respond to media inquiries, by providing the correct policy narrative that best represents Snap Inc.
  • Be the first to act and respond to the appropriate public policy inquiries.
  • Partner with consultants as necessary to assist Snap in the Benelux markets.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• • A proven ability for shaping, and working with, government officials, NGOs, coalitions and other stakeholder groups
  • Good policy understanding and, ideally, existing relationships within government and the wider stakeholder community in the regions
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills and sound political judgement
  • Forward thinking and proactive ability on legislative, regulatory and public policy issues
  • Ability to work with Snap business to identify pertinent issues and orient the public policy team to meet priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of external groups and individuals, including those who may be opponents or critics
  • Articulate, thoughtful and strong decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently/ self-starter in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
  • Proficiency with AI tools is a plus

Minimum Qualifications: 

• • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in law, economics, European studies or political studies
  • Significant relevant experience in public policy and public affairs in Benelux 
  • Experience with tech/digital policy/ platform regulation

Preferred Qualifications:

• • Post-graduate degree in relevant field
  • Previous experience working with the Government or regulators or other Public institutions 
  • Work experience with or in Brussels/EU policy
