About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Production Engineering to lead our global production engineering function. This role is critical in driving the industrialisation and scale-up of high-tech consumer products through a network of internal factories, Contract Manufacturers (CMs), and Joint Development Manufacturers (JDMs). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring robust, efficient, and scalable manufacturing processes that meet quality, cost, and delivery targets across multiple sites.

  • Oversee production engineering, and industrialization across contract manufacturers and JDM’s in China, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

  • A key member of Dyson's Global Supply Chain leadership team; considered a succession candidate for the Global Manufacturing Director role, EXCO -1.

  • Dyson has scaled production from 4 million to 25 million units in the past five years, with increasing manufacturing complexity due to proprietary IP, emerging technologies, and evolving supplier partnership models.

  • Devise and implement leadership optimal strategies, leading the production engineering team, engaging people, providing clear strategies that ensure future readiness, including automation, AI, and other innovation.

  • Dyson’s Singapore facility is a world-class R&D and manufacturing hub, predominantly staffed by engineers.

  • Singapore is the global HQ of Dyson, and Southeast Asia is a strategic region for expansion into new categories and markets.

  • Dyson’s manufacturing footprint has expanded significantly in recent years, especially in The Philippines and China, to support rapid growth.

About you
  • Minimum 10 years of manufacturing engineering, and production engineering leadership experience, with a minimum of 2 years’ operating at department head of Director level.

  • Lead mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering teams globally.

  • Develop and execute production strategies aligned with product roadmaps.

  • Oversee NPI from EVT to MP, ensuring DFM, DFT, DFC principles are applied.

  • Manage FAT, SAT, EVT, DVT, and PVT across all sites.

  • Build strong technical relationships with CMs and JDMs.

  • Drive capital equipment strategy and factory readiness across geographies.

  • Implement Six Sigma and lean practices to improve yield, OEE, and cost.

  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree (Bachelor’s/Master’s).

  • 10+ years in manufacturing engineering, 2+ years at Director level.

  • Proven experience with high-volume consumer products and global manufacturing networks.

  • Six Sigma Black Belt; strong DFX expertise.

  • Critical leadership competencies

  • Excellent communicator, with high energy levels, and result-driven orientation.

  • Multi-national corporations work experiences with strong ability to work across culture.

  • A natural collaborator, with authentic and coaching leadership style. Demonstrated track record in collaborating with RDD in a highly consumer centric and high technology innovation environment.

  • Strong ability to lead team and influence for results across organisation.
