Role Purpose

This senior leader position is responsible for driving the commercial performance and expansion of Capricorn’s business, including development and implementation of the growth strategy via products and services and through most effective channels. The Head of Products & Strategy helps everyone understand business goals by translating them into executable strategy with defined value propositions to market.

Skills, Knowledge and Attributes

• Ability to effectively communicate with, negotiate and influence key stakeholders at executive level.

• Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills with ability to facilitate and develop strategy.

• Forward thinking, entrepreneurial and innovative regarding product development.

• Ability to make commercially driven decisions and recommendations.

• Demonstrated ability to work with tight project time frames and balance multiple priorities and trade-offs.

• Ability to be resilient and adaptable in a high paced environment.

• High attention to detail with an organised approach.

• Ability to apply critical thinking and problem solve.

Experience

• Min 10 years in financial services and/or product management role.

• Demonstrated successful presenting at Executive and Board level.

• Demonstrated experience in strategy role within financial services (Highly desired)

• Previous experience as Project and/or team leader to deliver Product or service.

• Proven record of accomplishment of strategic business development and market segmentation including large-scale national go-to market launches and campaigns.

• Previous lending experience in a B2B environment with in-depth knowledge credit assessment and portfolio risk management (desired).

• Demonstrated experience in change management, learning and development.

• Broad experience of sales operations and back-office processes.

• Experience with data modelling and data visualisation tools.

Qualifications

• Tertiary Degree in commerce, technology, process engineering or a related discipline.

• Membership of an appropriate organisation or association to compliment the function of the role (e.g., Australian Institute of Management, Agile Product Owner, Lean Six-Sigma) desirable.
