The Music Mission team owns Spotify’s end to end proposition for music creators and the experiences they create for fans. The team is dedicated to building tools and services to enable creation, promotion, expression, and monetization at scale.
The Music team shapes how artists and their music show up on Spotify. Our work spans Spotify for Artists, content upload, artist identity and visual expression, promotion and discovery, and insights that help artists and their teams understand and grow their audiences.
As Head of Artist & Label Product, you’ll lead the product organization responsible for these experiences, bringing together our artist and label products into a clear, connected strategy. You’ll lead PM managers and senior PMs, set direction across multiple product areas, and turn that strategy into meaningful outcomes for artists, labels, listeners, and Spotify. You’ll report to the VP of Product, Design and Insights for the Music Vertical and be a key member of the extended Music leadership team.
What You'll Do
- Set the strategy and direction for Spotify’s artist and label products, connecting artist tools, promotion, discovery, expression, and insights into a coherent product experience.
- Own business and product outcomes across the portfolio, translating long-term strategy into clear priorities and near-term goals.
- Lead, coach, and develop PM managers and senior PMs, creating an environment where people can do their best work and continue strengthening their product craft.
- Advance how the product organization uses AI to improve the way we build, learn, make decisions, and deliver value.
- Make thoughtful prioritization and resource decisions across product areas, navigating trade-offs and keeping teams focused on the outcomes that matter most.
- Partner closely with Design, Engineering, Product Insights, Content, and Business leaders to build high-quality products at Spotify’s scale.
- Represent the needs of artists and labels in key product and business decisions, helping teams balance creator, listener, and Spotify priorities.
- Navigate a complex music ecosystem, including relationships with labels and distributors, legal and licensing considerations, and dependencies across Spotify.
Who You Are
- You bring 12+ years of product management experience, including 5+ years leading product managers and product management leaders.
- You have led complex product portfolios and can turn broad opportunities into clear strategies, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
- You have experience building products for multi-sided platforms and understand how to create value for different groups with distinct needs.
- You understand the commercial side of product development and are comfortable working across revenue, engagement, and user-experience goals.
- You have experience creating new products and scaling established products to serve large audiences.
- You can move comfortably between long-term strategy and detailed product decisions, communicating effectively with senior leaders while staying close to teams and customers.
- You build trusted cross-functional relationships and have delivered complex products across teams, disciplines, and organizational boundaries.
- You communicate complex ideas clearly and create frameworks that help teams make informed decisions and move forward.
