Head of Product Management, Amadeus Travel Intelligence

With access to some of the world’s most extensive travel data, Amadeus Travel Intelligence is on a mission to make this a reality by creating a one-stop shop for travel data and insights. At the heart of this vision are smart data sets—collections of aggregated, cleansed, and purposeful data from various sources. These sets will provide actionable insights accessible through dashboards, BI applications, product integrations, AI, chatbots, and Microsoft Copilot integrations.

The Head of Product Management role sits in the Amadeus Travel Intelligence Group, and will lead the creation of a Digital Twin of the entire Travel ecosystem. You will do this by gathering data from Amadeus systems, helping establish data partnerships with major Travel Businesses, and establish a vision for a Travel Data Marketplace, where data and algorithms can be shared and built upon to answer the business question of today and tomorrow.

You will define the vision of a true multi-segment unit working across multiple business units and platform R&D teams to establish a platform/marketplace approach to Travel Intelligence, delivering solutions to 16,000+ customers, in multiple segments, across Hotels, Airlines, Airports and more.

This role provides leadership and direction, managing a team of 50+ Product Manager and analysts, setting the direction and priorities of a 350+ R&D organization. This role will be based in Madrid, unifying product management teams for all Travel Market Segments with R&D capabilities of Atlanta, Bogota, Nice and Pune.                                                                                                                                                                                       

Key responsibilities

Product Strategy

  • Lead the overall strategy and vision for the Travel Intelligence and Hospitality TI product suites, ensuring clear product differentiation, clear market positioning, and an enhanced end‑to‑end user experience.
  • Define and communicate the product strategy and roadmap, aligning internal and external stakeholders—including the Executive Committee, partners, and R&D—around delivery and long‑term business objectives.
  • Drive product investment decisions, requirements prioritization, and portfolio rationalization to ensure an optimized solution offering that meets customer needs and maintains business performance.
  • Oversee prioritization and coordination of product initiatives, ensuring timely delivery of developments and alignment with strategic and operational targets.

Product Development

  • Ensure product development and delivery meet segment‑specific plans, acting as gatekeeper for time‑to‑market and aligning all hospitality teams around investment, revenue, and sales accountability.
  • Lead product management and full lifecycle ownership of Travel Intelligence solutions, setting functional, service, and operational quality standards in close collaboration with R&D.
  • Manage Lean Portfolio Management processes, aligning epics and business requirements to strategy and ensuring adherence throughout the development process to meet client and market commitments.
  • Partner closely with Engineering in an Agile environment, balancing business and technical needs, guiding technical approaches, prioritizing features, and ensuring delivery quality through clear scope definition and acceptance criteria.

                                                           

Pre-sales, Retention & Delivery Support

  • Provide specialist product and solution expertise across the full sales and client‑retention cycle—supporting complex bids, negotiations and strategic alignment with product direction.
  • Balance and prioritize delivery commitments to protect long‑term strategic and growth investments while ensuring smooth collaboration across teams.

The ideal candidate

  • Extensive experience leading the product function in a multinational, matrix organization
  • Experience leading teams of 20+ people
  • An innovator mindset with strong relationship building skills
  • A deep understanding of travel data and how that is applied across multiple functions
  • Fluent in English and available to travel globally for approximately 20-25% of their time
