The Opportunity: Head of Product and Engineering

We are seeking a hands-on engineering leader to own and scale our entire product development function—including engineering, product management, and product design. This is a technical-first role for someone who has grown up in engineering, loves building teams and systems, and is now ready to lead a full-stack product development org at a mission-driven startup.

You’ll partner closely with the CEO on product strategy and vision, while taking full ownership of execution: building great software, shipping consistently, growing the team, and embedding generative AI into both how we build and what we build.

This is a rare opportunity for an engineering-minded leader who wants to grow into a VP or CTO role while still being deeply involved in product thinking and customer experience.

What You’ll Do🔧 Technical & Product Leadership

• Own the full product development lifecycle—from concept to design, development, testing, and deployment

• Translate business and user needs into scalable, elegant technical solutions

• Guide platform architecture and ensure long-term scalability, security, and performance

• Serve as the primary bridge between vision and execution, partnering with the CEO on strategic priorities

👥 Team Building & Management

• Build and lead a cross-functional product team (engineering, product management, product design)

• Double the size of the engineering team while establishing strong team structure and hiring processes

• Coach, mentor, and retain high-performing engineers and product contributors

🤖 AI-Driven Product Development

• Implement generative AI to increase engineering productivity (e.g. code generation, documentation, QA, planning)

• Work toward building AI-native features into the product, such as intelligent scheduling, matching, or enrichment personalization

🛠 Hands-On Execution

• Stay close to the codebase—leading design reviews, writing high-leverage code, or prototyping when needed

• Ensure excellent developer experience, modern tooling, and efficient workflows

🚀 Process & Product Operations

• Establish lightweight, high-velocity product development processes (agile, sprints, OKRs, feedback loops)

• Collaborate across departments (e.g. operations, sales, customer success) to ensure fast feedback and business alignment

• Measure impact and outcomes through analytics, user behavior, and experimentation

Who You Are

• 8+ years of experience in engineering roles, with 3+ years leading technical teams

• Strong technical depth and hands-on experience with full-stack development (bonus for C#/.NET and React)

• Experience managing or partnering with product and design, with a demonstrated ability to ship successful products

• Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-paced startup environments

• Experience scaling engineering orgs (ideally at a Series A/B startup or similar)

• Familiarity with generative AI, LLMs, and how to apply them practically to product and engineering problems

• Thoughtful communicator who can collaborate with both technical and non-technical teammates

• Mission-driven and eager to build something meaningful with lasting social impact
