The Role

Adyen is seeking a visionary product leader to serve as our Head of Product for Developer Experience. Our developer platform is the foundation upon which thousands of businesses build their payment and financial systems. As our customers increasingly use AI-powered development tools to build their integrations, we are looking for an AI-native leader to set the strategy and accelerate the evolution of our platform.

You will be responsible for the entire developer journey, from onboarding to the first API call to scaling globally. You will lead a team of talented product managers and tech writers to define and execute the roadmap for our APIs, SDKs, developer tooling, and documentation, ensuring Adyen provides a world-class, intuitive, and powerful platform for builders.


What You'll Do

  • Set the Vision: Define and champion the product vision and strategy for Adyen’s developer platform and how it evolves in an AI-native world.
  • Own the Developer Journey: Take full ownership of the end-to-end developer experience, including API/webhook design, SDKs, documentation, sandbox environments, and identity & access management.
  • Drive Product Execution: Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Design, Developer Relations, and Marketing to deliver high-quality products and drive their adoption.
  • Lead and Mentor: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of product managers dedicated to the developer ecosystem.
  • Be the Voice of the Developer: Engage deeply with our customers and the broader developer community to understand their needs, gather insights, and translate them into impactful products.

Who You Are

  • An Experienced Product Leader: You have 15+ years of experience in technology, with at least 8 years in a product leadership role (e.g., Director, VP, or Head of Product).
  • A Developer Platform Expert: You have a proven track record of leading product for a successful, large-scale developer platform, API, or SDK product at a top-tier technology company.
  • An AI Native: You have demonstrable experience leading AI-powered product initiatives. You think natively about how AI can transform the developer experience and have experience with AI agents, copilots, or similar technologies.
  • Technically Adept: You have a strong technical background and are comfortable engaging with senior engineering leaders on complex system architecture and API design decisions. A background in engineering is a plus.
  • Customer-Centric: You are obsessed with the developer journey and have a deep empathy for the challenges and needs of builders.
  • Strategic & Impactful: You are a strategic thinker who can connect a high-level vision to a tangible, measurable roadmap and inspire a team to execute on it. Experience in fintech or payments is highly desirable.
