Job Description

Job Purpose

Leading a global product data team, this role will provide strong leadership in guiding business processes, identifying best practices, and formulating strategies for product data as we accelerate our digital transformation. This leader will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate product data with customer and market data to present a holistic view of LGC Standards product offering to our customers. This position will drive improvements in data quality and efficiency and will deliver strategic insights to support aggressive commercial revenue objectives through product data enrichment and system improvements. Willingness to learn more about LGC’s markets and customers will be essential to fulfilling the potential of this role. This role represents a great opportunity for a process-minded, detail-oriented and ambitious individual to set new standards for process, efficiency, and data strategy across the division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to the global product data team.
  • Ensure our systems and processes are fit for purpose to support the product data needs of the business.
  • Lead the product data enrichment initiative to increase web traffic to our products and maximize conversion.
  • Develop a roadmap to implement a product information management system (PIM) that will enable us to scale in line with the business growth ambitions.
  • Identify product data related process issues, risks, and opportunities to deliver our commercial objectives.
  • Improve data quality across all systems, setting aggressive KPIs for improving customer-facing data quality as foundational to LGC’s value proposition.
  • Bring innovative thinking to our digital transformation journey to help LGC meet its goals and leapfrog the competition.
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives to support the delivery of aggressive top and bottom-line objectives through product data.
  • Develop a roadmap to empower distributors with the most up-to-date product catalogue and serve their product data needs efficiently.
  • Gather, interpret, and analyze information to solve problems and make informed decisions.
  • Build and evolve systems and processes to drive efficiencies and increase outputs. Develop clear and detailed documentation of processes and workflows.
  • Think and act in a way that aligns with long-term goals and objectives. Understand how different parts of the organization relate to each other to determine impacts.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree or equivalent level, ideally in a relevant subject.
  • Experienced in managing large teams and delivering through others.
  • 5+ years of experience in a business process and strategy role with a focus area on identifying and communicating clear process flows, best practices, efficiencies, and potential impacts to customer experience.
  • Proven experience working in collaboration across diverse commercial and technology teams.
  • Experience in developing recommendations and reporting for a variety of audiences.
  • Experience providing written and verbal training on processes and best practices.
  • A thorough understanding of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools, such as Tableau and Business Objects, and their capabilities.
  • Strong business acumen with a commercial mindset, process visualization competencies, and a track record of producing high-quality output and meeting deadlines.
  • Attention to detail is crucial.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team motivator and influencer at all levels.
  • Willing and able to stay curious, proactive, and adapt quickly to changing commercial realities.
  • Travel required: flexible, less than 20%
