About the role
We are seeking a Head of Procurement to build and lead our procurement function at Anthropic. This role will be responsible for developing our procurement strategy, building a high-performing team, and driving material cost savings across the organization. As we scale our operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our vendor agreements are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with our company's needs and values.
Responsibilities:
- Build and lead procurement team, including hiring and developing talent
- Drive strategic sourcing and vendor pricing negotiations
- Develop and implement procurement policies, processes, and controls
- Partner with Finance & Strategy on spend analysis and optimization
- Lead improvement of procurement technology and automation initiatives
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement operations
- Manage relationships with key vendors and internal stakeholders
- Implement vendor management framework
- Partner with Legal on contract management processes
- Lead integration of Claude AI into procurement workflows
You may be a good fit if you have:
- 10+ years of procurement/strategic sourcing experience
- 3+ years of people management experience
- A track record of building and scaling procurement functions in high-growth environments
- Strong experience negotiating enterprise software and service agreements
- Deep knowledge of procurement systems and processes
- Experience implementing procurement automation/technology
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- Excellent stakeholder management abilities
- A background working with executive leadership

The expected salary range for this position is:
Annual Salary:
$230,000—$300,000 USD
Education requirements: We require at least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
