Lead the global supplier strategy and management for the India-based API supply base, maximizing value creation through supplier partnerships, competitive sourcing throughout the whole lifecycle (launch to last-out), and global cross-functional collaboration.
Drive supplier-centric strategies including supplier growth, consolidation, and exit planning, while ensuring cost competitiveness, supply security, and alignment with global procurement and business priorities.
Direct people leadership responsibility for the Category Manager API at the Kalwe production site (key global launch site) and the Category Manager within the India sourcing office.

Job Description

Major accountabilities: 

  • Develop and execute supplier-centric strategies for the India supply base with a spend of 125 million USD, including contracting, joint business development plans, growth roadmaps, risk mitigation, and exit strategies aligned with global procurement and business priorities.

  • Lead and develop the procurement team, including the Category Manager API at the Kalwe site with a spend of ~85 million USD and the India sourcing office, ensuring alignment with global supplier strategies, strong performance, and effective cross-functional collaboration.

  • Coordinate API launch strategies with Development and global launch Management, conduct benchmarking and lead negotiations and alternative sourcing execution to prior to launch to ensure launch competitiveness.

  • Align with stakeholders on and engage in global supplier-related initiatives, such as tender management, cashflow improvement or inventory optimization.

  • Direct the identification of sourcing strategies and identify, engage and manage the relationships with key internal stakeholders and external suppliers, and exert significant influence to drive Procurement projects.

  • Direct the negotiation of agreements and lead the establishment of contracts to decrease total cost with specified quality and service levels and ensure supply security and ensure that savings are tracked according to group guidelines.

  • Direct the implementation and utilization of Procurement systems and ensure consistent tracking of savings, benchmarking and other Procurement KPIs, according to group policies.

  • Demonstrate thought leadership related to the identification, implementation and continuous improvement of sourcing best practices, systems and processes and policies alignment.

  • Direct the preparation and finalization of Procurement investments plans and budgets. Oversee the coordination and development of Procurement teams. Reporting of technical complaints / adverse events / special case scenarios related to Sandoz products within 24 hours of receipt.
