Job Description
OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE:
The Head, PharmSci Digital Solution Partners will drive creative disruption through digital technologies and will be responsible for leading business partnering, innovation lab and delivery teams globally to support the Pharmaceutical Sciences organization at Takeda.
This individual will work closely with the PharmSci R&D team to identify opportunities to help the organization to excel in the execution and implementation of new ways of working, deliver on the promise of being modality smart, advance forward-thinking capability-build and purpose-led sustainability, aggressively pursue our data and digital transformation and deliver on medical. This will include overseeing the innovation portfolio management, design and development of new services, products, and business models, and working with external partners to integrate innovative technology solutions into the Takeda R&D environment.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in technology, data, and innovation management, with experience in leading technology development teams and working in a pharmaceutical R&D environment. They will have excellent communication, project and product management skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including scientists, Technology professionals, and external partners.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Establish an innovation technology portfolio aligned with the PharmSci Data & Digital strategy, including identifying and prioritizing PharmSci business imperatives that can be addressed through digital and analytics use cases supported by technology
  • Develops collaborative partnerships with leaders across Pharmaceutical Sciences that allow for building, and delivering on, strategic roadmaps that meet the unique technology needs of the organization
  • Develops understanding of the business objectives and technical support requirements, supporting development and delivery of required support and services
  • Partners with Global Digital Technology / R&D Technology Partners to ensure Pharm Sci specific needs are addressed and managed in a manner that promotes business stability and continuity
  • Manage functional budget, optimizing for value while driving adherence to standards
  • Build and manage a high-performing, fit-for-purpose Technology team that is focused on business partnering, innovation management, execution and delivering value
  • Increase Digital and Technology literacy through targeted capability building and drive adoption of DD&T offerings
  • Ensure adherence to architecture standards (set by Architecture Council) and data standards (set by Global Data Council)
  • Drive Innovation, Future Thinking, Design Thinking, Lean Startup methods, incentivizing technology, data and digital proof of concepts (fail fast, learn faster)

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Minimum 12 years of experience across multiple R&D functions with technology accountability
  • Minimum5+ years of experience as a manager leading a global team
  • Minimum 5+ years in business partnering experience
  • Direct experience in the pharmaceutical industry or related field required
  • Previous experience leading an organization and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders is a plus
  • Proven track record of leading and driving business process transformation and organizational culture change as well as delivering on programs with complex business deliverables
  • Track record of successful leadership, management, and development of a global dispersed teams. Strong judge of talent with the ability to make tough talent decisions.

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$205,100.00 - $322,300.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
