BFY Group is one of the UK’s fastest-growing management consultancies, trusted by leading organisations in Energy, Utilities, and Private Equity. We partner closely with clients to solve their toughest challenges, deliver exceptional results, and create lasting value. We're proud to be featured in the Sunday Times Hundred, named one of the UK’s Leading Management Consultants by the Financial Times, and consistently recognised as a Great Place to Work.

We’re now hiring a Head of People and Culture to lead and evolve our people function – ensuring our growing team has the support, development and environment they need to thrive, and focussing on protecting the culture that we’re proud of as we continue to grow. Our people and culture make our business, so this is a key role that will be critical to the future growth of BFY Group.

About the Role

This is a strategic and hands-on role for someone passionate about shaping people strategies and delivering brilliant basics. You’ll be responsible for the full employee lifecycle – from attracting and onboarding top talent, to driving performance, development, and engagement. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring our people function scales effectively with the business.

This is an exciting opportunity to build on our strong foundation, bringing structure and innovation to how we support and develop our people, and embedding this into how we work across the business.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and continuously improve all things people at BFY – culture, process, policies, systems, and ways of working
  • Lead and deliver core HR activities including employee relations, contracts, compliance, and day-to-day support
  • Partner with leadership to shape our people strategy, aligned with our growth ambitions
  • Lead recruitment efforts to attract exceptional talent, working closely with hiring managers
  • Coordinate and evolve our 6-monthly review and feedback process to support meaningful development and performance
  • Develop and embed a learning and development offer that supports professional growth at every level
  • Review and optimise our existing HR systems, policies and platforms to ensure they’re scalable, user-friendly, and fit for purpose
  • Drive key people initiatives around engagement, wellbeing, and inclusion
  • Act as a trusted partner and advisor to managers and leadership on all people-related matters

About You

You’re a practical, people-focused professional with experience shaping and delivering HR and people strategies in a growing business. You’re not afraid to get stuck into the details, but you also think big picture. You care deeply about employee experience and bring a blend of structure, empathy, and energy to your work.

You’ll likely bring:

  • Proven HR generalist experience, ideally in a consultancy or professional services environment
  • Confidence working autonomously and owning the people function end-to-end
  • Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices
  • Experience improving and embedding scalable systems and processes
  • A passion for learning and development, and supporting others to grow
  • Great communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
  • CIPD qualification is a plus, but not essential

Benefits

What’s on Offer?

We’re a high-performing team that puts just as much focus on culture as we do on outcomes. We want BFY to be a meaningful, enjoyable place to work – and the Head of People will play a huge role in helping us make that a reality.

  • Competitive package, aligned to your experience and value
  • Biannual performance-based bonus scheme
  • 33 days holiday (25 + bank holidays) plus holiday purchase scheme
  • Additional holiday with length of service
  • Private medical insurance (for you, partner, and children under 18)
  • Enhanced wellbeing support and resources
  • Pension and EV salary sacrifice schemes
  • A flexible, high-trust working environment where you’re empowered to make an impact
