Overview:

We are currently seeking a Head of New Business Development to join our team as we enter an exciting phase of growth. As the leading provider of Demand Response services in Ireland, VIOTAS continues to expand across the all-island market while developing and rolling out new business propositions.

Our customers are grappling with increasingly complex energy and decarbonisation challenges. We are looking for a someone who understands these challenges and can turn them into a commercial opportunity for VIOTAS.

This role sits within the VIOTAS Ireland team which is responsible for managing and developing the company’s operational demand response portfolio in the all-island Single Electricity Market and for delivering upon the business’ ambitious growth strategy.

We are looking for someone with significant experience in the energy market in Ireland with a strong track record of developing and maturing new business propositions. Previous experience in the demand response industry would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and commercialisation of new business propositions in the Irish and Northern Irish markets, taking these from a concept to realisation. 
  • This will involve working with a high degree of autonomy to develop commercial propositions, pull together high-quality collateral materials, secure customers, develop sales and go-to-market strategies for each proposition, and develop any required resourcing / business plans, etc.
  • Deliver market entry and scaling of new propositions in line with agreed objectives and timescales to maximise the benefits achieved.
  • It is envisaged that the development and commercialisation of new business propositions will constitute the majority of the role in the first instance, some strategic sales may be required for new offerings.
  • Champion and drive forward further strategic new business development / proposition commercialisation avenues as agreed with management. 
  • Lead engagement with customers to support delivery new business offerings.
  • Develop very strong customer relationships and represent the company externally with customers, channel partners, at conferences, etc. as required.
  • Liaise with other functions within VIOTAS – leverage deep cross-functional collaboration – as required to develop and realise new business opportunities.
  • Act as the key point of contact, subject matter expert and focal point for new business propositions under development.
  • Create and deliver presentations and proposals both internally to management, and externally to clients, of the highest quality with extremely clear and concise insights.
  • Use all available information and market data, coupled with deep energy market, decarbonisation and regulatory landscape expertise to identify business opportunities, both within current service offerings as well as with respect to new services and products that VIOTAS can develop and deliver.
  • Lead the development and negotiation of any required contracts with customers, suppliers, etc.
  • Strategic assessment of any existing or arising commercial opportunities related to VIOTAS’ activities in Ireland / Northern Ireland, plus development and presentation of profitable business models (including value stack available and VIOTAS value proposition) and comprehensive execution plans to exploit these.
  • Act as a leader within the VIOTAS Ireland team, heavily influencing the direction of this part of the business and the company’s significant portfolio in the all-island market.

 

Essential Requirements:

  • A minimum of eight years previous relevant experience
  • A strong understanding of the energy market, particularly where it impacts larger energy users (LEUs)
  • An understanding of the typical decarbonisation strategies being implemented by LEUs, including deployment of renewable energy technologies and electrification programmes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a pragmatic approach. Ability to work on own initiative with a high level of personal motivation.

Desirable: 

  • A degree in engineering or an equivalent qualification

Job Type:  Full-Time, Permanent.

Location:  Limerick or Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid)
