At Daimler Truck UK, we're shaping the future of commercial vehicle retailing. As the automotive industry accelerates towards electrification, digitalisation and new customer expectations, we're looking for an exceptional leader to drive the performance, capability and transformation of our UK retail network.

This newly evolved leadership role combines Network Development, Dealer Performance and Training into one strategic function, recognising that retailer capability is a critical driver of commercial success.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our network remains a competitive advantage for the business, our customers and our investor partners.

Responsibilities

 

 

What You'll Be Doing

 

Network Strategy & Transformation

 

  • Develop and execute the UK network strategy and long-term roadmap
  • Lead market coverage and network optimisation plans
  • Drive retailer readiness for electrification and zero-emission technologies
  • Shape digital transformation and future customer journeys
  • Benchmark performance against industry-leading OEMs

 

Dealer Performance & Network Development

  • Drive network profitability, operational excellence and business performance
  • Lead network changes including openings, relocations and strategic investments
  • Monitor and improve key commercial and operational KPIs
  • Build strong partnerships with dealer principals, owners and investors

 

Training & Capability Development

  • Define and deliver the UK Truck Retail Training Strategy
  • Build capability frameworks across sales, aftersales and leadership populations
  • Develop onboarding, certification and professional development pathways
  • Introduce innovative learning solutions, including digital and blended learning
  • Ensure training outcomes directly support business performance, customer satisfaction and operational excellence

 

Customer Experience Excellence

  • Define and deliver CSI improvement strategies
  • Share best practice across the network
  • Use insight and data to drive targeted improvement interventions

 

Leadership

  • Inspire and develop a high-performing team
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Drive succession planning and talent development across the function

 

Franchise Governance

  • Lead franchise compliance, governance and contractual frameworks
  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory and legal requirements
  • Manage franchise board engagement and communication activities

  • We're seeking a commercially minded leader with the credibility and experience to influence at Board, investor and retailer level.


  • Senior leadership experience within automotive, commercial vehicle or franchised retail environments 
  • Proven success leading network strategy, transformation and performance improvement programmes 
  • Experience developing capability, training or organisational performance initiatives 
  • Strong understanding of dealer business models, franchising frameworks and network operations 
  • Experience managing senior stakeholder relationships and influencing strategic decisions 
  • Strong commercial and analytical capability with the ability to translate data into action
