At Centrica we play a crucial role in the energy transition, from generation through keeping customers’ homes warm and working. We’ve committed to investing £4bn to 2028 in renewable generation, security of supply, and our customers. As part of this, we have a hugely exciting opportunity to shape and grow a new venture in our energy retail business launching in early 2026.

We are looking for someone who is experienced in both aspects of the role - both thinking big and looking out to set a clear marketing strategy for the business, whilst also comfortable in the detail of delivering on this strategy.

As Marketing Lead, you’ll lead a small but perfectly formed team of marketeers across customer engagement, digital, campaign and comms. You will also play a key role in shaping the proposal for how this team might grow over time as the business establishes itself.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, scale-up environment. Someone who is excited by the idea of rolling up their sleeves to create marketing content and comms. An ideas person who can think differently about how we establish this business in the market and drive growth.

Whilst the new venture is confidential what we can say is that as Marketing Lead for this business, you will be at the forefront of Centrica’s ambition to lead the energy transition in the UK and enabling consumers to live more sustainably.

Key accountabilities:

• Shape and own the marketing strategy for this new energy venture

• Develop and own the plan for launch – covering all aspects from campaign development, media planning, events and comms

• Manage the annual campaign plan, looking ahead to set priority messages in market and adjusting the plan as needed throughout the year

• Manage how the business shows up across both owned and external channels

• Create and execute the in-life marketing plan to grow and retain customers

• Manage the overall marketing budget

• Manage and develop a marketing team across multiple functions (digital, CRM, comms, campaigns)

• Interface with functional marketing professionals across Centrica group and third-party partners to bring the best of Centrica marketing expertise and align with existing brand and marketing strategy

• Measure and optimize marketing performance

What we're looking for:

• Experience in a high growth, scale-up environment

• Experience managing marketing budgets of £5m+

• Able to showcase a portfolio of marketing strategies and executions that have driven growth

• A true marketing practitioner with hands-on experience of delivery

• Must understand and be proficient in marketing tools and capabilities across campaigns, media, digital and creative

• Team leadership– able to orchestrate and build a happy, high-functioning marketing team

• Accountability for hitting customer growth numbers and ownership of marketing performance

• Self-starter mentality, someone who makes data-driven decisions and takes calculated risks to deliver at speed and create results
