Head of Merger & Acquisition
Munters is seeking a result driven Head of M&A to join our Group Function, Finance & Strategy to be instrumental in driving the dealmaker process.
Summary
Mergers & Acquisitions and Alliances will be of increasing importance to Munters going forward and will be a catalyst when it comes to realizing our strategic objectives and delivering wanted results. The position as Head of M&A be highly visible in Munters, and it is key to quickly building a wide and strong internal network and value in the organization.
The role
As Head of M&A, you will be part of leading the Munters M&A agenda through a series of critical phases. The relevant Business Head is formally responsible for acquisition, but the Head of M&A is instrumental in driving the dealmaker process and is expected to take a leading role in the execution from initial contact to successfully close the deal together with the business lead and Legal.
Key to success is analytical ability, building relationships across all levels of the organization, strong results drive to “get things done” without line mandates, a deep understanding of the business logic strategically and operationally. The position reports to CFO.
Key responsibilities
- Together with the Business Areas build the M&A strategy
- Be a speaking partner with BA Presidents, CEO and CFO in strategic and tactical considerations related to M&A
- Take active part in developing the Munters overall M&A pipeline
- Support BAs in defining/building their M&A pipeline based on specific BA strategies and in identifying and evaluating potential acquisition targets and divestments/carve-outs
- Manage M&A projects from first contact initiation to deal execution
- Provide process and subject expertise to the BAs in M&A matters
- Build knowledge base and competencies of M&A best practice
Experience and knowledge
- MSc Engineering, Business Administration or Finance.
- Experienced M&A project manager (5+ years of experience from a leading investment firm, P/E firm or from an M&A department of other industrial companies) having done several deals (negotiation and driving the process forward)
- Experience from Corporate M&A and integration projects is a plus
- Excellent knowledge of company valuation principles and a general understanding of the most common valuation models
- Excellent knowledge about P&L/BS M&A deal structures
- Established network in the M&A advisors community
- Strong financial orientation; sees the numbers in the reality and the reality in the numbers
- Fluency in English, other languages an advantage
- Excellent MS Office knowledge

To be successful in this role you need to have a strong results drive to overcome obstacles and with a passion for business. Negotiating skills is a critical requirement for this role and you need to have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to take informal leadership roles.
You are structured with ability to grasp the whole picture while maintaining attention to detail and you have an ability and willingness to work without large staff or administrative support.
You are a pragmatic, down-to-earth team-player and displays a high level of team orientation with a proactive, can-do attitude.
It is important to have a mindset of continuous learning, development and improvement.
