About the Role
Strategic Impact – Advancing the Rule of Law
This role is pivotal in delivering authoritative, timely, and comprehensive legal content that underpins LexisNexis products and services. By ensuring accuracy and accessibility of statutory and regulatory information, the Head of APAC enables legal professionals, businesses, and governments to make informed decisions, thereby strengthening transparency, compliance, and justice systems. The position directly supports LexisNexis’ mission to advance the rule of law worldwide, ensuring that legal information is available, reliable, and actionable for all stakeholders.
This is a full-time position, working across different APAC business hours and to liaise with UK/SA/US colleagues. Occasional travel across regions for team engagement and stakeholder meetings.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the editorial strategy for statutory and regulatory content across APAC, aligning with GEO and Legislation strategic aims while accommodating the unique priorities of each regional team
- Foster collaboration between teams, champion AI-enabled editorial practices to accelerate turnaround time and enhance content integrity and lead the adoption of online-first workflows tailored to the specific requirements of each region.
Content Oversight
- Oversee the acquisition, consolidation, and publication of statutory and regulatory content for APAC jurisdictions, managing small editorial teams with varying roadmaps.
- Regularly report to diverse stakeholder groups on progress against OKRs and KPIs, ensuring comprehensive coverage and adherence to quality standards across all regions.
- Define and monitor success against quality, turnaround time, and cost metrics, considering the unique operational contexts of each editorial team.
Operational Excellence
- Monitor and optimise KPIs including budget, quality, timeliness, and coverage; provide transparent reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement in workflows, leveraging automation and AI tools for efficiency.
People Leadership and Talent Development
- Directly manage individual contributors
- Engage across APAC to inform leadership decisions and improve EOS.
- Build a high-performing, inclusive team culture that fosters accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
- Coach and mentor individuals to develop leadership capability; implement succession planning and career development frameworks.
- Recognise and nurture talent in all teams, creating opportunities for growth and professional advancement.
Project management
- Oversee all projects involving statutory and regulatory content in APAC, ensuring accurate estimation and requirements gathering, agile methodology adoption, timely delivery and stakeholder alignment.
- Partner with Product, Technology, and Commercial teams to align editorial outputs with customer needs and growth objectives.
- Represent the editorial function in enterprise-wide initiatives and GEO transformation programmes.
AI Leadership Responsibilities
- Act as a champion for AI-first editorial workflows, ensuring adoption of generative and agentic AI capabilities across all processes.
- Partner with Technology and Product teams to embed AI tools into content acquisition, consolidation, and publication workflows.
- Drive experimentation and innovation with AI solutions for summarisation, classification, and quality improvement of legal content.
- Ensure editorial outputs are structured and tagged optimally for emerging AI experiences, including Lexis+ AI and future platforms.
- Monitor AI adoption metrics, identify and implement strategies to improve individual use of AI in day-to-day work, and report progress against GEO’s 80/80 vision.
Qualifications:
- Law degree (JD or equivalent) essential; legal practice experience highly desirable.
- Proven leadership in legal publishing or editorial operations, with strong knowledge of at least one legals system within the region.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-region teams and complex editorial workflows.
- AI Fluency: Advanced understanding of AI technologies, LLMs, and agentic content platforms; proven experience embedding AI into editorial processes.
- Strong track record in people management and talent development.
- Experience managing budgets and vendor relationships.
- Familiarity with data analytics and performance dashboards (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Exceptional leadership and change management skills.
- Strategic thinking with ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
- Advanced communication and influencing skills across global teams.
- Data-driven decision-making and proficiency with analytics tools.
- High adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
