Summary Generated by Built In
Making a difference isn’t just our purpose, it’s what motivates our people every day. For us, work is not about ticking a box. It’s about knowing that it matters. We make a meaningful difference every day by making it easier for our customers to focus on what matters in their lives.

McMillan Shakespeare is undergoing a significant transformation to modernise its technology and fundamentally reset how technology is designed, built and delivered. This role sits at the centre of that transformation, shaping not just what we deliver, but how we work.

Here’s how you will make a difference in this role…

As Head of IT Products & Engineering, you will be accountable for leading MMS’s evolution to a modern, productled, engineeringcentric organisation - one that delivers value faster, more safely and at scale.

In so doing, you will have three key priorities:

  • AIDelivered Software Engineering - Elevate software engineering by embedding AIassisted development as a default capability across product and platform teams.
  • Maximising Use of Dynamics 365 - Drive materially better ROI from the organisation’s Dynamics 365 investment by reducing fragmentation, duplication and bespoke solutions; and aligning product owners, engineering teams and business leaders around a common platform direction
  • Transforming Ways of Working – Lead the shift from traditional, functionally siloed delivery to modern, product-led ways of working

At MMS clear expectations help our people Be the Difference.  Your key responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Define and own a coherent product and platform strategy, aligned to enterprise priorities and approved technology roadmaps.

  • Lead platform consolidation, replatforming, and decommissioning of legacy systems including the reduction of technical debt and duplication through standardisation and simplification.

  • Lead highperforming engineering and product teams across application, platform, and integration domains.

  • Lead the adoption of AIassisted software engineering capabilities across design, development, testing, deployment, operations and support.

  • Ensure AI tooling is integrated into standard engineering workflows, platforms and developer environments rather than operating as disconnected pilots.

  • Ensure platforms and products meet agreed availability, performance, and recoverability expectations.

  • Proactively manage technology risk and ensure compliance with internal policies and external obligations.

To be considered for this role you will possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in a technology or businessrelated discipline

  • Senior leadership experience in software engineering and platform management

  • Proven delivery of largescale platform modernisation or consolidation

  • Experience operating in regulated, highavailability environments

  • Executivelevel communication and stakeholder engagement

  • Strong ownership mindset and accountability

  • Commercial acumen and riskbased decision making

  • Strategic thinking with pragmatic execution
