We're Looking For:

We are seeking a results-oriented and strategic-minded Investor Relations professional with a proven track record of effectively communicating strategy, and operating and financial performance to the investment community. You will be part of the finance leadership team responsible for advancing OPENLANE's purpose through a deep understanding of our business that results in delivering a meaningful impact on the company's performance and financial strategy. You will be a primary leader responsible for maintaining and improving our relationship with investors and analysts and effectively communicating a compelling narrative around the company's strategy and results that contribute to improved investor perception and valuation. You will lead and partner with the CEO and CFO regarding all investor relations strategy, financial analysis, and strategic communication. In this role, you will have the opportunity to use your experience in relationship management, SEC compliance, investor relations strategy, and business experience to improve OPENLANE's reputation and value continuously.

You Are:

  • An expert in fostering and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, enhancing corporate visibility, and ensuring transparent communication to drive shareholder value.
  • Adept in your understanding of our business and the related financial principles, accounting, and financial analysis.
  • Able to interpret and communicate operating and financial data and metrics effectively.
  • Experienced in building and maintaining positive relationships with investors, analysts, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficient in representing the company professionally.
  • Able to establish and constantly improve a process that touches several stakeholders across the organization
  • Experienced in developing and executing a comprehensive IR plan with a proven track record of improving overall investor perception and generating new investor interest and investment, particularly in the technology and digital marketplace sectors.

You Will:

  • Provide detailed business and financial information and insights to OPENLANE's leadership, investors, and analysts while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Manage the flow of financial and company information between the Company, its shareholders, and the full financial community.
  • Maintain proactive, timely, and consistent communications with current analysts and investors through telephone and personal contacts, group meetings, and written material.
  • Respond to shareholder and analyst requests for numerous types of information.
  • Determine and influence the appropriateness of the disclosures and respond with accurate information in a timely manner.
  • Develop and execute a plan that targets and attracts new investors in desired sectors and serves as a spokesperson to the investment community.
  • Proactively identifies investor and industry events where management participation would help positively impact investor perception of the company and work with the company's communication team and event organizers to effectively place and showcase management
  • Analyze quarterly results and compile important statistics and other relevant information for use at the quarterly conference call & earnings release with analysts/investors and throughout the quarter during regular discussions with investors.
  • Provide appropriate guidance to the investment community regarding the Company's operating results and business strategies, and the effects of special developments.
  • Provide senior management with accurate feedback related to discussions with the investment community and its reaction to the Company's business strategies, and to special developments and external events. Stay apprised of market opinions, attitudes, and reactions to Company issues and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Drive and continuously improve the quarterly earnings call process to make the most of stakeholders' time and to deliver a world-class earnings program
  • Understand and analyze industry trends and data that impact investor opinions and modeling of the wholesale industry, and effectively keep management appraised of those trends on a monthly basis

Who You Will Work With:

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer this role will collaborate with the CEO, the Executive Committee, senior business and operating leaders, finance and accounting, legal and other teams on a regular basis.

Must Have's:

  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in a key leadership role within investor relations, finance or communications.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Communications, Public Relations or related field required.
  • An MBA or Master's Degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with securities laws, stock exchange regulations, and other relevant legal and regulatory frameworks to ensure compliance in all investor communications.
  • Ability to align investor relations strategies with the overall business strategy, understanding the company's long-term goals and effectively communicating them to the investment community.
  • Highly collaborative leadership style with a high level of curiosity
  • Demonstrated ability to listen attentively, learn rapidly, and transform business strategy into compelling, credible, and succinct external communications.
  • The position is eligible to be remote or commuting-based, subject to travel availability of up to 50%

Nice to Have's:

  • Digital marketplace or technology company-based experience
  • Combination of experience in public company investor relationships and other finance leadership roles, especially FP&A, and business unit level finance leadership
  • CEO and Board level exposure
  • Strong external references from analysts, investors, and prior company senior leadership
  • Career aspirations to grow and develop beyond the Investor Relations function
