Who we are looking for

This is a senior leadership position within State Street Global Technology Services (GTS). We are looking for an accomplished technology executive to lead application development and end-to-end engineering delivery across Asia Pacific (ex-India). The successful candidate is a hands-on yet strategic leader who partners closely with business, product and operations stakeholders to translate regional demand into resilient, high-quality technology platforms — while ensuring full alignment with our global Investment Services technology strategy. This person combines deep engineering leadership, strong commercial judgment and the resilience to operate calmly under pressure in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment. Within the first year, success looks like a stable, resilient regional platform, a strong and engaged engineering team, and a delivery roadmap that is demonstrably aligned to both regional business priorities and the global platform strategy.

Reporting & scope:  Reports to the Global Head of Investment Services Technology, leading engineering teams across multiple APAC (ex-India) locations. Some regional and occasional international travel is expected.

What you will be responsible for

As Head of Investment Services Technology, APAC (ex-India), you will:

  • Lead all application development and engineering activities across APAC (ex-India) locations, owning the full software lifecycle from requirements through design, build, testing, deployment and production support.
  • Partner with business (Sales, Client Services), Product and Global Delivery / Operations teams to collect, evaluate and prioritize requirements, and to shape a regional technology roadmap that supports business growth.
  • Safeguard the resiliency, stability and performance of Investment Services applications, owning availability and incident readiness during APAC hours in partnership with the Production Management team.
  • Own end-to-end delivery: directly manage the regional technology teams that execute and implement Investment Services technology requirements, ensuring high-quality, on-time and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Coordinate with global Investment Services technology strategy and platform owners to ensure regional demand and priorities are aligned with the global platform architecture and standards.
  • Build, develop and retain a high-performing, multi-location engineering organization, setting clear goals, providing feedback and fostering a culture of engineering excellence.
  • Manage regional risk, controls, governance and stakeholder communications, escalating and resolving issues in a timely and transparent manner.

What we value

These skills and attributes will help you succeed in this role:

  • 15+ years of experience in technology, with proven success delivering large-scale, mission-critical systems — preferably within the investment management or broader financial services industry.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to engage credibly with business, product, operations and global technology leadership.
  • Sound architectural and technical judgment, with the ability to guide teams on solution design, quality, resiliency and production stability.
  • 10+ years in a technology management / leadership role, including leading distributed teams within a global operating environment.
  • Strong track record of end-to-end delivery ownership across the full engineering lifecycle, balancing regional demand with global platform strategy.
  • Proficiency in professional English communication, both written and verbal, across a multi-cultural, cross-regional setting.
  • Resilience and composure under pressure, with strong prioritization and decision-making capabilities.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or above) in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline is required.
  • Experience in the financial services industry, ideally investment management / investment servicing, is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing on-shore / off-shore delivery models across multiple APAC locations.
  • Experience aligning regional delivery with enterprise / global platform strategy and standards.

Additional requirements

  • An open-minded, quick learner who is comfortable adapting to change and new technologies.
  • A collaborative team player who builds trust across functions and geographies.
  • High personal integrity, reliability and accountability.
  • Able to make effective decisions, manage change and communicate clearly in a professional manner.
