About the role:
The Head of Finance, Breakthrough Innovation is the finance business partner to the Global Breakthrough Innovation Director and the Breakthrough Innovation team. This role is primarily focused on decision support, business partnering, business model development, overall portfolio and performance management, and supporting and managing Breakthrough budget spend. As a leader you will be responsible for providing financial expertise & insights, strategic thought-leadership, and building/maintaining relationships across markets, Global Brand Teams, IR and the Exec. This role reports to the VP Finance, Global Innovation, and is part of the Finance Innovation Leadership Team (FILT).
Role Responsibilities:
The Breakthrough innovation team was created in F23 and focuses on innovation that is a fundamental change beyond Diageo’s existing capabilities and / or current consumer behavior. The team’s ambition is to create transformational value for the future of Diageo, consumers, and society.The BI team has a total of c.40 dedicated people who work across a number of projects, the impact of which range from direct NSV, to ESG benefits (carbon, water, nature, and others), to indirect impact such as consumer data.
Experience / skills required:
- 10+ years professional experience, with strong foundation in finance, demonstrating career advancement and increasing responsibilities
- Strategic approach, with excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Commercial Finance/Project Finance background with ability to spot opps and risks
- Finance experience in consumer goods, beverage alcohol preferred
- Great teammate and inspiring leader
- Operate optimally with ambiguity
- Ability to influence partners with a wide variety of seniority and functional experience
