Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and the Nordics market GM, the Nordics Head of IT is responsible for delivering a fully digitized Nordics entity providing superlative CX, advanced data analytics capability, and optimised business operations for its diagnostics capabilities, accelerating Unilabs’ position across the Nordic markets

Unilabs Nordics is an important business in the Group; and requires a significant system overhaul including front office; back office and operational systems; this coupled with a desire to have 100% digital integration with its customers and patients; and to drive business performance through advanced analytics.

The individual will bring technology excellence, leadership, an entrepreneurial and strategic mindset and significant digitisation experience to the organization.

Their key focus is to ensure that the business is able to derive value and make excellent use of technology by delivering high-quality, efficient, cost-effedctive and innovative IT platforms to this business unit.

As a key member of the Nordics CLT (Cluster Leadership Team) and UNILABS IT Leadership Team, the role will need to ensure that technology can underpin the significant business challenges and change that UNILABS will face over the next few years.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Strategic Leadership

  • The Head of IT sets the technology vision and strategy for the Nordics organization, aligning it with business goals.
  • They collaborate with other CLT members to ensure technology initiatives drive growth, efficiency, and innovation.

Digital Transformation

  • Drive digital initiatives to enhance patient care, diagnostic accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Explore emerging technologies (such as AI, telemedicine, and IoT) to improve diagnostics and patient outcomes.

Data Security and Privacy:

  • Implement robust security measures to protect patient data and comply with regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Foster a culture of data privacy awareness and compliance.

Operational Management:

  • Ensure day-to-day IT operations, including infrastructure, applications, and cybersecurity are delivered in line with cluster expectations.
  • Ensure smooth functioning of IT systems, data management, and network infrastructure.
  • Manage IT budgets (capex and opex, vendor relationships, and service level agreements.


Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with other C-suite executives (CEO, CFO, etc.) to align IT with business objectives and with the wider IT leadership team.
  • Communicate IT strategies (both local and global) and progress to stakeholders across the organization.



RESPONSIBILITIES

· Delivering technology that enables seamless service to customers, suppliers and colleagues, focussing on a high-quality customer experience

· Drives quality and efficiency in technology solutions delivered, ensuring that they meet architecture and security standards.

• Oversees continual improvement and update (evergreening) of all platforms under management – ensuring that technical debt and risk is reduced to acceptable levels or removed entirely.

• Owns the relationships, work, and performance of key partner vendors to enable executional excellence, underpinned by contract and commercial arrangements

• Deliver Nordics specific initiatives to time; to budget and quality; ensuring all stakeholders are engaged. Including CX, Customer integration and Operations efficiency (incl. Lab consolidation)

· Work closely with Group CISO to ensure the security of Unilabs systems

· Work closely with Group Service Delivery to ensure core operational services are delivered to the Nordics market.

· Provide optimised ITOM for Nordics in-line with the global IT ITOM; ensuring optimum efficiency delivered.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a CIO or in senior IT leadership roles.

• Strong understanding of medical diagnostics, healthcare regulations, and industry trends.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Experience of working within a global function with matrix management.

• Commercially astute, with experience of owning relationships with technology vendors / SIs in different tiers

• Experience in technology sourcing

• Ability and comfort with working at senior executive and CxO levels

• Ability to influence and break down silos within an organization as well across organizations

• Ability to focus on business value results, rather than solutions

• Energy, focus, assertiveness, and diplomacy

• Must demonstrate acumen in business and function disciplines

• Contributing to and delivering high performing business strategies

• Strong communication skills in writing, speaking, and presenting

• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to work under pressure
