We are looking for you:
As Head of Group Compliance & Accounting, you will be in a senior leadership role responsible for the organisation's financial practices, ensuring that compliance frameworks are robust, efficient and aligned with both regulatory requirements and strategic objectives. In this exciting and challenging role, you will oversee group-wide accounting, compliance, internal controls and financial reporting processes. You will collaborate with senior management, external auditors and regulators to maintain the integrity, accuracy and transparency of the company's financial and compliance matters.
What you will do:
Compliance Leadership:
- Develop, implement, and oversee the organization’s compliance framework to ensure adherence to local and international laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Monitor regulatory changes and proactively adapt compliance practices to address new requirements.
- Lead internal audits and manage relationships with external auditors and regulators.
- Provide strategic advice to senior management on compliance risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Establish and maintain robust anti-corruption, anti-money laundering (AML), and ethical practices throughout the organization.
Accounting Oversight:
- Supervise the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with Swiss GAAP FER or other applicable accounting standards.
- Oversee the consolidation of multiple entities to produce group consolidated financial accounts as well as statutory financial statements.
- Develop and implement group accounting policies to standardize and optimize financial practices across the organization.
- Oversee group-wide financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with statutory obligations.
- Manage the group’s tax planning, reporting, and compliance activities.
Internal Controls and Risk Management:
- Design and implement effective internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Lead risk assessments related to financial operations and compliance, establishing mitigation measures where necessary.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial processes, compliance systems, and overall operational efficiency.
- Lead system improvement projects, including upgrades or enhancements to financial systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Build and lead a high-performing team of accounting and compliance professionals across multiple jurisdictions.
- Foster collaboration across departments to ensure compliance and accounting functions support broader business objectives.
- Serve as a key liaison between the board, audit committee, and senior management on compliance and financial matters.
Strategic Contributions:
- Support M&A activities, including due diligence, entity restructurings, and post-merger integration from a compliance and accounting perspective.
- Provide insights and recommendations to enhance financial performance and drive organizational growth.
- Develop and oversee training programs to promote a culture of compliance and financial discipline within the organization.
What you bring:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a related field: CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting, compliance, and financial leadership roles, preferably in a multinational environment.
- Proven experience in entity restructurings, including legal, financial, and operational aspects.
- Hands-on experience with setting and implementing group-wide accounting policies.
- Expertise in driving system improvements, with a preference for experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of Swiss GAAP FER, tax regulations, and global compliance frameworks. Experience with risk management and corporate governance is essential.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial management software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools (e.g. Dynamics, Oracle, FCCS, Lucanet, etc).
- Leadership: Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing finance teams in different locations.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to senior management, boards and auditors.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions under pressure.
- Ethics & Integrity: High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.
