Overview

We seek a strategic leader to drive Kwai’s government engagement in Brazil, shaping policy outcomes and safeguarding business interests. You will build and maintain relationships with government officials, regulators, and stakeholders to advance organizational goals, ensure compliance, and advocate for policies aligned with our mission. Responsibilities include monitoring legislative/regulatory developments, analyzing impacts, advising senior leadership, and leading cross-functional collaboration to align policy advocacy with operational execution. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in government affairs, expertise in Brazilian regulations, fluency in Portuguese and English, and a proven track record in policy advocacy and regulatory negotiations. A proactive mindset, strong government networks, and the ability to navigate complex political landscapes are essential.

• Develop and execute Kwai’s government affairs strategy in Brazil, fostering proactive communication and collaboration with government agencies and regulators.

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with senior officials, regulators, ministries, civil society, and academia to align policies with corporate interests.

• Monitor political and social developments, anticipate regulatory risks, and lead cross-functional crisis response to resolve disputes or public incidents.

• Represent Kwai at government hearings, industry forums, and official events to articulate the company’s stance and enhance its public profile.

• Track legislative and regulatory trends, collaborate with internal teams (TnS, Operations, Legal, etc.) to adapt business strategies, and ensure adherence to government requirements.

• Partner with industry associations, think tanks, and third-party organizations to build alliances that amplify policy influence.

• Extensive experience in government affairs or public policy in Brazil; multinational or tech sector experience preferred.

• Proven ability to build/maintain relationships with senior government stakeholders, civil society, and industry networks (established TMT sector network a plus).

• Deep understanding of Brazilian legislative/regulatory frameworks (e.g., transparency, minors protection, AI governance) and global tech policy trends.

• Expertise in coalition-building, strategic advocacy, and aligning policy outcomes with business objectives.

• Cross-functional leadership to align compliance and operational strategies in fast-paced environments.

• Fluency in Portuguese and English, written and verbal.

• Willingness to travel domestically/internationally.
