Job SummaryFlex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, Axiom, with the spin planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support Axiom, a company focused on critical digital infrastructure and delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Head of Global Hyperscale Engineering, based out in Ireland.

The Head of Global Hyperscale Engineering is accountable for the global strategy, industrialization, and execution of LV switchgear, associated Product lines and e‑house power PODs that support hyperscale data centre customers. This leader in conjunction with cross functional department heads drives capacity, cost, quality, lead time, safety, and sustainability across a global factory network and supplier ecosystem to deliver best in class Customer expectations. They are a key contributor to the full lifecycle—from product design for manufacturability, to factory build, FAT, shipment, and field readiness—for both standalone switchgear lineups and fully integrated e‑house systems.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Develop and manage adaptable Engineering teams that provide dedicated specialist knowledge and support to key Hyperscale Customers on a global basis.

  • Customer facing with Commercial acumen.

  • Monitor compliance with company policies and procedures as well as customer experience of our products and oversee continued improvements to the user experience.

  • Work with Hyperscale Customer Engineering teams to develop an in-depth knowledge of our Product Lines and how this aligns with the Customer Data Centre development.

  • Point of contact, along with nominated team members, for customer technical queries with a fast response time.

  • Key member of the Hyperscale Customer Account Management team including Sales and Projects.

  • Close liaison with Anord Mardix Product Line managers and R&D teams to develop Customer Requirements.

  • Develop and track KPI’s to determine effectiveness of the team.

  • Direct the Global Hyperscale Engineering teams in liaising with site manufacturing and design teams to ensure customer requirements are met.

  • Provide direction to Global Engineering team when developing Framework agreements with Customers.

  • Resource management to meet variable workload.

  • Providing support, managing and coaching the Global Engineering teams.

  • Make decisions regarding work processes or operational plans and schedules in order to achieve department objectives.

  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Operations to define the global manufacturing footprint for LV switchgear and e‑houses, including in‑house vs. outsourced fabrication, partner selection, regionalization, and dual‑sourcing strategies.

  • Develop capacity plans and roadmaps for the Engineering function.

  • Collaborate with Quality Department in developing, monitoring and improving upon various processes, risk assessments and design related activities.

  • Ensure design compliance with IEC 61439, UL891, UL 1558, UL/CSA, fire/life safety codes, national standards and structural requirements.

  • Provide team support for integrated FAT of Switchgear and e‑houses.

  • Partake in SIOP process for both switchgear and e‑house workloads..

  • Work with Supply Chain to develop suppliers for structural steel, enclosure panels, HVAC systems, fire systems, cable trays, and other e‑house subsystems.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.

  • 8+ years in switchgear or mission‑critical electrical equipment manufacturing.

  • Experience with e‑house/prefabricated power room production.

  • Proven track record managing, leading and mentoring engineering staff to develop high performance collaborative teams.

  • Experience with Engineering Quality systems, regulatory compliance and industry standards.

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels and across regions.
