Kronospan is looking for a personable, hard-working Head of KronoOriginal to develop and grow our sales of Flooring across DIY, builders' merchants, and distribution.

Kronospan is one of the world's largest manufacturers of wood-based panels. Our particleboard, MDF, OSB and plywood ranges are used every day on building sites and in manufacturing across the UK. Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and driven Head of KronoOriginal to lead our UK Flooring sales operations.

This is a field-based role, with emphasis on being infront of the customer and securing new business for the Company.

In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee all aspects of flooring sales, driving revenue growth, building strong customer relationships, and managing a high-performing sales team. The successful candidate will combine strategic vision with decisive action, motivating the team to exceed targets whilst maintaining exceptional customer service standards. 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a sales team, setting clear performance objectives and conducting regular appraisals to drive continuous improvement
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market share within the flooring sector
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and commercial partners across the region
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify new business opportunities and inform product strategy
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including negotiations, contract management, and customer account oversight
  • Monitor sales performance metrics and KPIs, producing regular reports and forecasts for senior management
  • Collaborate with product, marketing, and operations teams to ensure customer requirements are met and service excellence is delivered
  • Represent the organisation at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings to enhance brand visibility and credibility
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and health and safety standards across all sales activities
  • Identify training needs within the team and facilitate professional development opportunities to enhance people skills and product knowledge

Qualifications

To be suitable for this position you must have:

  • Proven track record of sales leadership with at least 5 years' experience managing sales teams
  • Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets and revenue goals
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills with the ability to secure high-value contracts
  • Excellent people management and motivational abilities
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen with P&L responsibility experience
  • Customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional service
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and sales management software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience within the flooring, building materials, or construction industry
  • Knowledge of the UK flooring market and distribution channels

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with sales forecasting and modelling
  • Industry certifications or qualifications in sales management or business development
  • Experience managing field-based teams
