THE POSITION
Under the joint responsibility of the FIFA27 Executive Director Administration and the FIFA Finance Division, the Head of Finance will contribute to the development of the financial strategy, will oversee the financial operations of the local entity and will manage the dedicated finance team.
The finance department of the entities will include the following functions: Accounting, Controlling, Treasury, Tax and Insurance. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Structuring phase:
  • To consolidate the small Finance Team consisting of Accounting, Taxes and Controlling 
  • To finalize the implementation of FIFA Financial tools.
  • To be responsible for reviewing the necessary policies and procedures implemented by the company, in consideration of FIFA’s requirements and local law. 
  • To be responsible of implementing those policies and procedures in daily activities, to ensure compliance and appropriate financial transparency and governance.  
Planning & Operating Phase:
  • To lead all aspects of the finance function of the FIFA Subsidiary in Brazil: Accounting, Taxes, Controlling, Treasury and Insurance
  • To act as business partner to all functions guiding well-informed decision making and managing the financial risks. 
  • To align and coordinate with all requirements relating to FIFA Finance in overall (e.g. consolidation, budgeting and reporting requirements).
  • To establish and develop relations with senior management and external partners and stakeholders.
  • To act in a coordinated way with other departments within the entities and within FIFA to ensure smooth business operations. 
  • To analyse and review company cash flow, expenditures and revenues. 
  • To participate in financial standards setting and in Forecast process.
  • To support FIFA in the overall financial planning of the tournament.
  • To prepare financial reporting as required by FIFA and the entity’s management. 
  • To produce error-free accounting and tax reports and present their results.
  • To oversee tax audits, tax returns and federal and state tax returns. 
  • To ensure compliance with IFRS and FIFA Accounting principles. 
  • To provide necessary support for internal customers and external auditors.
  • To seek ways to improve upon accounting and tax processes and procedures. 
  • To ensure the efficient implementation of the insurance coverage according to FIFA requirements. 
  • To assist the FIFA27 Executive Director Administration and the FIFA Finance Division on special requests.
  • To manage, supervising and motivate the Finance team and to provide effective guidance and leadership. 
  • When necessary to contribute to the daily financial tasks. 

YOUR PROFILE
  • Higher business education, specialized in Finance or Accounting (university degree or equal education)
  • Strong experience in Finance/tax at senior level and a managing financial function preferably in an event organisation (organising major sport events or other similar projects)
  • In-depth understanding of local GAAP
  • Previous experience within a finance position in Brazil is mandatory. Good computer knowledge (user), especially MS Excel and SAP
  • Excellent leadership and team-management skills

Skills Required

  • Higher business education specialized in Finance or Accounting (university degree or equal education)
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Finance/tax at senior level
  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience managing a financial function
  • Experience in organising major sporting events or similar projects
  • In-depth understanding of local GAAP
  • Previous experience within a finance position in Brazil
  • Good computer knowledge (user), especially MS Excel and SAP
  • Knowledge of and compliance with IFRS and FIFA Accounting principles
  • Experience overseeing tax audits, tax returns and federal/state tax filings
  • Ability to lead and manage the finance team (leadership and team-management skills)
