Traba is building the autonomous future of industrial labor.
We are the AI operating layer for the industrial supply chain. We started in workforce—temp staffing, the biggest operational pain point for the manufacturing and logistics customers we serve—and used it to embed ourselves inside their daily operations and create a far better customer experience through technology. Now those same customers are pulling us beyond staffing into the broader operational workflows that run their facilities. That foundation gave us proprietary data from millions of shifts and deep enterprise relationships. But our edge is more than data: by connecting to the systems running across every facility and activating the workers already on our platform to execute against them, we are building applied AI that drives real productivity gains and transforms how the global supply chain operates at scale.
We are backed by Founders Fund, Khosla Ventures, and General Catalyst.
We are looking for a world-class finance leader to drive scale as we enter our next chapter of growth. You will be a true strategic partner to the CEO, not just managing the numbers but leading the company through them. There is a clear path to CFO for the right person.
About You:
You thrive at the intersection of strategy and execution, are deeply comfortable with ambiguity, and hold yourself and others to an exceptionally high standard.
Player-Coach with an Olympian Work Ethic and a Growth Mindset: No task is too big or too small – you are as comfortable rolling up your sleeves on a detailed reconciliation as you are presenting to a board. You work long hours, go all in alongside the team, and hold yourself to the highest standard. You are deeply intellectually curious, always asking why, constantly learning, and pushing yourself and those around you to grow. You see every challenge as an opportunity to get better.
Finance Acumen & Rigor: You operate with extreme financial discipline. You must be relentless about data accuracy, stress-testing assumptions, and identifying inefficiencies others overlook. You instinctively know where every dollar is going, challenge unnecessary spending, and ensure that Traba's financial operations are as sharp and precise as its execution speed. You are a world-class financial modeler.
Strategic Partner: You are a thought partner to the CEO, helping refine strategy, allocate resources, and structure the company for long-term success. You have the executive presence to drive alignment across the organization.
Proactive Foresight: You are always thinking 6–12 months ahead, proactively identifying risks and opportunities before they arrive. You keep the company on the offense, surfacing challenges, stress-testing assumptions and ensuring that Traba stays ahead of market shifts.
Boardroom-Ready Communicator: You are a persuasive communicator who can distill complex financial data into compelling narratives for investors, the board, and executives, driving alignment and instilling confidence in high-stakes moments.
What You'll Do:
Lead the Financial Function: Own all FP&A and accounting operations with extreme precision — budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and controls.
Drive Strategic Decisions: Partner with the CEO and executive team to shape company strategy, guide resource allocation, and structure the business for long-term success.
Build for Scale: Streamline reporting, strengthen financial controls, enhance forecasting accuracy, and implement scalable systems and tooling across the finance function.
Lead Fundraising & Capital Strategy: Own our investor relationships and fundraising processes. Structure and negotiate equity, debt, and alternative financing to fuel growth while minimizing dilution.
Be the Connective Tissue: Deeply integrate financial strategy across sales, operations, and product — acting as a force multiplier for other teams and leaders, not a roadblock.
Manage Risk: Anticipate and mitigate financial and regulatory risks as we scale, ensuring compliance and keeping the company ahead of market shifts and operational bottlenecks.
What You Bring:
Ideal Financial Pedigree: 1–2 years of investment banking followed by 4–6 years at a top-tier private equity firm (e.g., KKR, Apollo, Hellman & Friedman, Blackstone, TPG, CD&R, Bain Capital, Warburg Pincus, or equivalent), then a senior finance role (VP/SVP Finance or equivalent) at a high-growth startup.
Fundraising Experience: Proven ability to run and win capital raise processes, with deep familiarity in structuring equity, debt, and alternative financing.
Operational Instincts: Strong handle on marketplace metrics — unit economics, payback periods, profitability margins, revenue retention — and an ability to connect financial strategy to real-world execution.
Systems Builder: Demonstrated ability to scale manual processes into automated, repeatable ones and implement FP&A tooling at growing companies.
Startup Spirit: Ambitious, action-oriented, and willing to go all in alongside the team as a player-coach.
Positive Presence: Direct, decisive, and a collaborative force who elevates every leader and team they work with.
Nice to Have:
Experience with marketplace or two-sided platform businesses
Legal and/or compliance acumen
Data & analytics experience (SQL, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
Experience implementing FP&A software (Oracle, Planful, Adaptive, etc.)
Compensation and Benefits:
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, with a highly competitive equity package. We want you to share meaningfully in the long-term upside of what we are building. Full benefits including health, dental, and vision coverage, commuter benefit, flexible PTO, and dinner provided for NY employees.
Location and Work Style
This role is based onsite in New York City, five days per week. We build in person — it is how we move fast, make decisions in real time, and hold a high standard together.
