Key Responsibilities:Financial Leadership & Strategy
• Act as a strategic finance partner to the CEO and leadership team, providing insights to drive business growth and profitability• Translate business strategy into robust financial plans, forecasts, and long-term financial models
• Support fundraising, investor conversations, board reporting, and strategic initiatives as needed
• Build financial discipline while maintaining startup agility and speed
Controllership & Governance
• Own end-to-end accounting, controllership, and financial close processes
• Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial statements in line with statutory and management requirements
• Establish and strengthen internal controls, financial policies, and SOPs suitable for a scaling organization
FP&A & Business Finance
• Lead FP&A, including annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, variance analysis, and scenario planning
• Partner with business leaders to drive cost optimization, unit economics, and ROI-based decision making
• Develop dashboards and MIS for leadership visibility and data-driven decisions
Audits, Taxation & Compliance
• Oversee statutory, internal, and external audits, ensuring smooth and timely closures
• Lead direct and indirect taxation (domestic and international, as applicable), including compliance, planning, and risk mitigation
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, statutory, and corporate governance requirements across geographies
Global Stakeholder Management
• Act as the primary finance point of contact for global stakeholders, including
investors, board members, international partners, auditors, bankers, and advisors
• Collaborate closely with global leadership teams to align financial strategy with regional growth plans
• Manage expectations, communication cadence, and reporting requirements for
international stakeholders
• Represent the finance function in global forums, reviews, and strategic discussions
Global Finance & Reporting
• Manage global finance operations, including multi-entity and multi-currency accounting where applicable
• Ensure consistent financial reporting standards across geographies
• Coordinate with global stakeholders, advisors, auditors, and banking partners
Team Building & Leadership
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team aligned to growth and scale
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance function
• Drive automation, systems implementation, and process improvements to support scale.
Ideal Candidate ProfileExperience & Background
• +15 years of progressive experience in finance, with significant leadership
experience heading a finance function
• Proven experience in startup or high-growth environments, preferably having built or scaled finance operations
• Strong exposure to controllership, FP&A, audits, taxation, and statutory reporting
• Global exposure with experience managing finance across geographies, entities, or international operations
• Prior experience working with founders, boards, and investors is highly desirable
