Reserve is a cryptocurrency project. We want money that doesn’t inflate like USD, but isn’t volatile like Bitcoin. Role Summary:
As the Head of Finance, you will oversee all financial activities, from strategic planning to daily operations. This includes overseeing financial planning and analysis, accounting, and financial reporting. You will play a crucial role in shaping the company's financial strategy and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
The job requires being extremely hands-on while maintaining oversight and actively contributing to strategic matters. You'll be working with a highly motivated team and reporting directly to the leadership team. You will also work closely with other teams to make data-driven financial decisions and manage risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the company's financial strategy to align with its long-term goals.
- Conduct financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Manage and optimize daily accounting operations.
- Prepare and supervise accurate financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Design and monitor financial controls to mitigate risk and safeguard company assets.
- Stay updated on changes in regulations, accounting standards, and cryptocurrency industry trends to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Manage accounting systems and crypto-specific platforms to track token movements across exchanges and DeFi applications on-chain.
- Oversee the consolidation of financial statements from multiple entities for tax filings.
- Oversee internal audits and manage relationships with external accounting firms.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field
- Experience managing a finance and accounting function at a high-growth company, preferably within the tech or blockchain industry
- Strong understanding of financial management of decentralized or blockchain-based companies
- Broad knowledge of GAAP and understanding of US tax regulations
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
- An analytical mind with good organizational skills
- Proven ability to work under pressure and adapt to a rapidly changing startup environment
Nice to haves:
- Experience scaling accounting and finance organizations
- A strong understanding of cryptocurrency is beneficial, but not essential
- Web3/DeFi background

What We Do
Reserve’s mission is to Increase adoption of & expand access to sustainable, inflation proof, stable currency.
Reserve is a free, permissionless platform on Ethereum mainnet to build, deploy and govern asset-backed currencies referred to as “RTokens.” RTokens are always 1:1 asset-backed, allowing for permissionless minting and redeeming on-chain by users without the need for any middlemen. Overcollateralization is provided by RSR governance token stakers. Each RToken can have an entirely different governance system and is governed separately by ecosystem stakers. The Reserve Protocol launched on Ethereum mainnet in Oct 2022 and completed its fifth audit in Feb 2023.
