About the Role

We are seeking a Head of Finance and Accounting to oversee management of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, prepare forecast and budget data, analyze & prepare key financial schedules/deliverables and assist in other special reporting projects as needed. This role will entail hands-on accounting and reporting management.

What you'll be doing:

• Provide strategic financial leadership and direction to the company. Lead short and long range planning and execution of growth strategy. Identify trends and potential business opportunities. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports and communicate to all internal and external stakeholders.
• Establish policies and accounting procedures, manage operational and treasury activities, including token holdings, custody solutions, and trading.
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including Balance Sheet, P&L, and Statement of Cash Flows, in accordance with GAAP. Ensure accuracy and compliance with SEC, FASB, SOX, tax and other regulatory requirements.
• Supervise the maintenance of internal controls designed to safeguard corporate assets and the integrity of its fiscal systems.
• Review financial results, set financial performance targets, manage budget, forecast, and KPI reporting to support the overall corporate strategy. Work directly with senior management to provide guidance and direction on operations from a finance perspective.
• Advising capital markets, borrowing, investing, foreign exchange, treasury operations, financial risk management and corporate finance initiatives.
• Oversee compliance with financial regulations, reporting requirements, and tax authorities.
• Interfacing with senior management and other departments to review financial performance, explain and control variances and assist in achievement and tracking of financial objectives.
• Supervising the maintenance of internal controls designed to safeguard corporate assets and the integrity of its fiscal systems.
• Identifying business issues that may have accounting and finance implications, communicate and work with the appropriate corporate functions to resolve.
• Lead the treasury function, including meeting short and long-term funding needs.
• Lead the tax function, ensuring tax filing requirements are met and minimizing tax liability for the company.
• Assisting with special projects as assigned
• Providing strategic financial input and thought leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization (i.e., review of potential alliances acquisitions and/or mergers and pension funds and investments)

What we're looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree with an Accounting, and/or Finance emphasis and/or equivalent combination of education and experience; CPA or MBA preferred
• 10-15 years of experience in finance, accounting, and treasury
• Experience developing and leading strategies, operations, policies, and budgets relating to treasury activities, including token holdings, custody solutions, and trading
• SaaS/startup experience preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Effective as part of a team; ability to interact with internal and external customers, managers and coworkers in a professional, courteous manner

The base salary range for this full-time position is $230k - $330k. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and typical maximum target for new hire salaries for the position of a candidate based in the Bay Area at any level. We do hire exceptionally talented professionals with decades of experience in their field. As such, our range may be higher than what is displayed. Our base salary ranges are determined by experience and location, and we hire at all levels for multiple roles. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills demonstrated during the interviews, working experience, and relevant education or training.
