About the Opportunity 

Rocket Travel by Agoda (RTA) is the strategic partnerships arm of Agoda, part of Booking Holdings (NASDAQ: BKNG). Rocket Travel by Agoda partners with global brands to bring their customers rewarding and engaging travel experiences that deliver value, maximize rewards, and build customer loyalty for partners’ brands. 

As Head of Finance for RTA you will lead the RTA global finance team and be a key member of the Finance leadership team of Agoda. You will serve as a strategic and integral business partner to the Head of RTA, RTA executive team, and broader Agoda senior leadership team (SLT). The team is responsible for all financial operations for Rocket Travel, Inc, a US-based entity, as well as the B2B portion of Agoda’s APAC business and has employees based in both Chicago and Bangkok.  

As Head of Finance-RTA, you will:  

  • Provide leadership, development and management of Rocket Travel's cross-continental finance and accounting teams. 
  • Work with RTA SLT to establish long-term financial vision across RTA and provide strategic and innovative recommendations to achieve financial targets. Influence internal and external partners to take on new initiatives to accomplish big milestones.  
  • Manage consolidated RTA forecasting and budgets and oversee the preparation of all financial reporting including spearheading new value-add insights to enable data-driven business decisions.  
  • Manage consolidated RTA finance operations including month close process, AP/AR, treasury, tax compliance and partner reporting.  
  • Serve as SME for all things RTA Finance and foster productive cross-functional working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. May include providing financial education/learnings, tools, or Best-In-Class business insights.  
  • Be a catalyst for change through assessing current-state RTA finance processes, identifying areas for process improvement and/or opportunities to restructure existing teams and own all related change management.  
  • Monitor real-time financial performance and provide proactive insights on pacing or recommend actions for course correction when necessary.  
  • Drive finance innovation and automation through regular assessment of BIC tools and emerging technologies. 
  • Ensure effective internal controls are implemented to maintain compliance with applicable laws and provide appropriate risk mitigation.  
  • Be scrappy. We’re a small team and often wear many hats. Some projects may not be completely defined. This individual will take a resourceful approach to what’s needed and drive results.  

What you’ll Need to Succeed: 

Experience and knowledge 

  • 5+ years of relevant experience as CFO, Accounting/Finance Director or Chief Controller in a company of relevant scale.  
  • Experience with accounting operations, the month close process, controllership and risks & controls.  
  • Experience with financial planning & analysis in a high growth and/or fast change environment.  
  • Master’s degree in accounting, finance or economics with significant US GAAP experience. MBA, other relevant master’s degree, or CPA a plus.
