About the role
In this role based in Singapore, you will report to the Global Finance Director, Product and Innovation whose scope covers Dyson’s portfolio of products, spanning Beauty, Floorcare, Environmental Care and Audio. You will be joining at a pivotal time in Dyson as you lead with your financial analysis and insights to deliver to the Company’s Objective of optimizing product cost across its entire product lifecycle and portfolio.
The role assumes active engagement in senior management decision-making processes including attendance at senior management meetings and insights-based advisory during key decision-making moments; in this capacity, you will work closely with stakeholders from across Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement & Sourcing. The focus is to drive savings initiatives, bring in industry best practices, guide decision making via solid financial analysis, business cases to inform decision-making around product cost decisions to ensure we optimize the use of our financial resources and continue to improve profitability.
Core accountabilities:
Lead creation of portfolio product cost management lifecycle from New Product Development to End of Life.
Support the design and build of a team to manage product cost across the company.
Providing financial insights and recommendations to achieve cost savings and optimize financial outcomes.
Providing business cases to justify investment of cost savings projects and to better inform prioritization and trade off decisions.
Lead the review and management of our cost targets and performance across product category and models.
Monitor and report cost performance to target, highlight risk and influence solutions.
Lead sprint teams cross-functionally and across multiple locations on cost savings initiatives.
Leading and mentoring a team of finance professionals.
About you
At least 12 years of relevant work experience.
Able to demonstrate previous experience of using extensive financial information to support executive level decision making, developing, and using advanced/complex financial models, and making business recommendations from the analysis of corporate financial statements.
A bias for action, with high levels of resilience and drive, able to see the strategic big picture but also to roll sleeves up and get into the detail and delivery of financial projects.
Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and interpersonal skills, across all seniorities within an business.
Energetic, engaging with ability to motivate and inspire in a matrixed environment.
Clear communicator; decisive and excellent influencer.
Able to challenge all areas of activity and recommend new approaches to meet financial objectives.
Strong team player and sound management skills - visible and inspiring leadership style at both a local and international/regional level. Helping to manage, develop, up-skill and promote a best-in-class function.
Assertive, decisive, prepared to see through plans and overcome objections - and yet flexible around change and comfortable with ambiguity, a quick and agile learner.
