Job Summary:

The Head of Finance Operation will oversee the financial operations of CIG Motors Company Limited, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes. This role involves managing day-to-day financial activities, implementing financial policies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Head of Finance Operation will work closely with other departments to support financial planning, reporting, and decision-making.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1.   Financial Management:
·         Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
·         Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions and reconciliations.
·         Manage cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.


2.   Financial Reporting:
·         Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
·         Conduct financial analysis and provide reports to senior management.
·         Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting.


3.    Budgeting and Forecasting:
·         Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
·         Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
·         Support strategic planning and decision-making with financial insights.


4.   Compliance and Internal Controls:
·         Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and accounting standards.
·         Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
·         Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies during audits and inspections.

5.   Process Improvement:
·         Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in financial operations.
·         Automate and streamline financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
·         Collaborate with IT to maintain and upgrade financial systems and tools.

 

6.   Team Leadership:
·         Lead, mentor, and develop the finance operations team.
·         Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
·         Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the finance team and with other departments.


Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

·         Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
·         Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA).
·         Minimum of 12 years of experience in finance operations or a related role.
·         Strong knowledge of IFRS and Nigerian financial regulations.
·         Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Sage 300, SAP).
·         Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyze complex financial data.
·         Excellent communication and presentation skills.
·         Strong leadership and team management abilities.
·         High attention to detail and accuracy.
·         Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
