As the Head of Finance, you will work cross-functionality and globally with Finance, Legal, Payments, IT and Human Resources teams across the company
As the Head of Operations & IT, you will work cross-functionality and globally overseeing the day-to-day operational functions and IT strategy of the organization. This position ensures efficient business operations, leverages technology to drive innovation, and aligns processes and IT systems with organizational goals.
The candidate shall report to the Managing Director of the Company with the possibility of also being appointed a Director if proven to possess the required attributes. Communication skills, attention to detail, and an objective approach to learning and problem-solving is a must
Job Description

What you’ll do:
This individual will be primarily responsible for the following:
- Working with the Controller to develop a high performing Finance process
- Developing and implementing process improvements & procedures to achieve efficiencies with month-end-close and day-to-day business operations
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including tax/VAT filings and audits
- Assisting with the coordination of annual audits as well as regulatory audit requirements and investigate their findings and recommendations
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including: Accounts Payable. Revenue Reconciliation, and Cash Reconciliation.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
- Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
- Work cross-departmentally on projects relating to business initiatives
- Ensure compliance with local and internal laws (ex. Data protection)
- Manage contracts with third parties
- Overseeing the capital structure of the company
- Reporting risk issues to the board of directors
- Maintaining banking relationships
- Maintaining a working knowledge of Maltese regulatory requirements and finance policies and procedures, and monitoring enactments
- Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve organizational objectives
- Developing and implementing process improvements & procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies(ex. Data protection)
- Identify and mitigate operational risks to ensure business continuity
- Assisting with the coordination inspectors and investigate their findings and recommendations
- Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of technology systems and data
- Stay informed of emerging technologies and trends
- Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
- Collaborate with other department heads to ensure seamless integration of operations and IT functions
- Implement efficient processes and standards coordinate customer service operations and find ways to ensure customer retention
- Oversee the implementation of technology solutions
- Manage contracts with third parties
- Report on operations performance and suggest improvements
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to direct and supervise
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, analytical and problem-solving skills
- 4-5 years’ experience preferably in the Finance Industry
- BA Degree in Accounting or Finance or BS degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field
- CPA a plus
