REMATIQ builds AI software for life sciences and medical device companies. Our platform helps teams automate complex documentation and compliance workflows, while keeping outputs traceable, reviewable, and audit-ready.

Product development in MedTech is highly complex: teams need to manage requirements, documentation, quality processes, regulatory expectations, and internal reviews across many systems and stakeholders. REMATIQ helps customers simplify this work, reduce manual effort, and move faster without compromising on quality or compliance.

We work with some of the world’s leading life sciences and MedTech companies, including Philips, Siemens Healthineers, B. Braun, and Novartis. We are backed by exceptional investors, having recently closed a Series A round.

We believe in the value of in-person collaboration and work in a hybrid setup, with the team coming together in our office in the heart of Berlin-Mitte typically four days per week.

With high customer demand and fresh investment, our teams are growing quickly. As Head of Finance & Operations, you’ll build the operating backbone for REMATIQ’s next stage of growth. Following our Series A, you’ll work directly with the founders to shape how we plan, allocate resources, hire, operate and scale the company. Finance, HR, Contracting, and Company Operations will initially sit within your function. You’ll build the people, processes, and systems needed to run them well, with individual areas growing into dedicated functions as the company scales.

Concretely, the following falls in the scope of the role:

• Own financial planning and reporting: Deeply understand both historical and future financial performance and key KPI, proactively report to changes and report to investors and the company.

• Ensure proper accounting: Closely work with our external accounting firm and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate closing of our books.

• Oversee HR and People operations: Own the smooth running of core people processes, from payroll and employee administration to performance reviews, recruiting coordination and onboarding, until these areas grow into a dedicated People function.

• Structure recruiting and onboarding: Work with external and internal recruiters to ensure a great candidate experience and the right quality bar of our talent.

• Legal, compliance and contracting: Work with our external legal counsel and our suppliers to enforce policies and negotiate offers.

• Company operations: Coordinate our OKR setting process, office logistics, legal setup, open new entities and everything else which ensures smooth sailing.

We’re looking for someone who combines strong financial judgment with the breadth and pragmatism of an early-stage operator. You’ve built before, know which processes need rigor and which need to stay lightweight, and use AI and automation thoughtfully to turn ambiguity into systems that work.

You may be a strong fit if you have:

• Operations and finance experience: You’ve built the ops and finance function in Series A companies from scratch before, know where to go deep and where to be pragmatic.

• Excellent problem-solving skills: You are strong at conceptual framing, analysis, synthesis, and turning complex information into clear recommendations.

• AI-native working style: You actively use AI and automation to eliminate repetitive work, improve decision-making and build internal processes differently from a traditional finance or operations function.

• Executive communication: Building a clear story with data is second nature to you.

• Startup mindset: You are adaptable, resilient, hands-on, positive under pressure, and willing to take on challenges beyond a narrow job description.

• Unquestionable ethics and diligence: We will trust you with all our financial and HR data.

• Fluency in English, German preferred.

• Rare timing: With strong customer demand and our Series A recently closed, we're entering the stage where the systems that worked for an early team need to become the foundations of a scalable company.

• Real ownership: Finance, People Operations, contracting and company operations start with you. You won't inherit a mature function; you'll decide what to build, automate, outsource and eventually turn into dedicated teams.
