The Head of Finance & Accounting (F&A) leads, manages, and optimizes all financial operations, accounting, taxation, treasury, and statutory reporting for Air Liquide Japan (ALJ). The primary mission is to maintain full compliance with Japanese statutory accounting standards (JGAAP) and local tax laws, while delivering accurate, timely consolidated IFRS reporting to the Group and Cluster (EAP). Serving as a key guardian of financial integrity, this role drives digital transformation and process modernization across finance operations. The position partners closely with the Business Service Center (BSC) and Center of Expertise (CoE) to deliver seamless, efficient financial services, and oversees local insurance management.職務内容

Duties & Accountabilities

Supervise the preparation of annual Japanese JGAAP statutory financial statements, including Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Statements of Changes in Shareholders' Equity (SE), and Individual Notes (個別注記表) in compliance with the Companies Act, Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, and local guidelines. Manage the end-to-end statutory audit with external auditors (KPMG Azusa), ensuring a smooth negotiation process, timely resolution of audit inquiries, and on-time publication in the Official Gazette (官報決算公告) for subsidiaries.

2 - Deep Technical Tax Compliance & Optimization

Ensure full compliance with Japanese tax laws and manage corporate tax returns, local resident taxes, and business taxes. Lead defense and responses for national and local tax audits.

3 - Lead projects related to Finance

ERP & Systems Implementation: Lead the rollout and integration of new ERP systems and financial software solutions.
Standard & Policy Governance: Drive the implementation of updated accounting standards (IFRS / JGAAP / Tax regulations) and new Group financial policies.
Process Optimization & Digitalization: Champion process improvements and automation to enhance operational efficiency and data accuracy.

4 - IFRS Group Reporting, Consolidation & Reconciliation

Lead the timely preparation and submission of monthly IFRS consolidated financial packages and specialized reporting (including Country-by-Country Reporting / CbCR and Pillar 2 requirements) to Group Headquarters. Manage net equity (NE) and equity reconciliations between IFRS and JGAAP.

5 - BSC Collaboration & Process Modernization

Provide functional leadership for the BSC Finance relationship, ensuring AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Treasury, and General Ledger transactions are processed with high accuracy and minimal manual intervention. Oversee and approve monthly bank reconciliations.

6 - Business Partnership, Cash Management & Risk Control

Collaborate closely with OCD Controllers, Procurement, Engineering, and Business Leaders to support projects and operations on an accounting point of view. Supervise corporate insurance programs, coordinating with the Corporate Insurance Department (CID) to optimize coverage for business assets and follow up on claims.
