Job Description
As the Head of Field Operations, you will build and lead the operational backbone of RIVR’s robotic fleet. You will be responsible for deploying, scaling, and optimizing RIVR’s robotic fleet in real-world environments. You will define the infrastructure, manage real-time performance monitoring, and coordinate field teams, including in-house engineers and outsourced robot operators, to maximize fleet reliability and efficiency. Your leadership will be instrumental in transitioning RIVR’s cutting-edge technology into large-scale, real-world deployments.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop and scale field operations for deploying and maintaining robotic systems in real-world settings.
- Oversee real-time fleet performance, monitoring, and troubleshooting to maximize uptime and efficiency.
- Build and manage internal and external field teams, including outsourced robot operators.
- Define and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline deployment, maintenance, and logistics.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and leadership teams to continuously improve robot performance.
- Establish and track KPIs for operational efficiency, reliability, and deployment success.
What you must have
- 8+ years of experience in logistics, field operations, or deploying autonomous systems, robotics, or industrial technology at scale.
- Proven ability to scale field operations, manage deployments, and coordinate both in-house and outsourced teams.
- Expertise in real-time monitoring, performance optimization, and troubleshooting of hardware-software systems.
Get some bonus points
- Familiarity with robotics, sensors, teleoperation, supervised-autonomy.
- Track record of successfully scaling field operations from pilot projects to full-scale deployments.
- Experience with operations for autonomous driving or personal delivery devices (PDDs).
