Wells Fargo is seeking The Head of Enterprise Data Management and Governance Tooling to lead the modernization and unification of Wells Fargo's enterprise data management and governance tooling ecosystem within the Enterprise Data Assets and Solutions organization of the Chief Data Office. This high-impact leadership role is responsible for shaping the data management and governance tooling technology and business requirements and product priorities, championing innovative and intelligent solutions, and promoting, tracking and managing product solutions. The position requires a visionary leader who simplifies complexity, builds strong teams, and consistently delivers enterprise-scale solutions. The individual will also help influence Wells Fargo's data management policy compliance posture and enable advanced analytics and AI capabilities to create a scalable, automated, and future-ready ecosystem that accelerates business insights and reduces risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and Drive Data Management and Governance Tooling Strategy
- Set the enterprise-wide vision for data management and governance tooling, ensuring alignment with the Enterprise Data Assets and Solutions broader data product strategy.
- Translate strategic objectives into prioritized product features and actionable roadmaps that modernize and unify data management and governance tools.
- Modernization of Ecosystem
- Oversee the implementation and enhancement to the automated data management tools and frameworks.
- Lead innovation by incorporating AI, automation, data virtualization, and advanced analytics into governance processes.
- Ensure Compliance and Risk Management
- Establish governance standards that meet regulatory, risk, and internal compliance requirements.
- Monitor data quality, lineage, and adherence to Data Management Policy standards across the enterprise.
- Engage Stakeholders and Vendors
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, influencing decision making and socializing capabilities, features, and use case studies to advance the value of data management and governance tooling across the enterprise.
- Partner with business, technology, and risk teams to ensure data management and governance solutions meet operational needs.
- Evaluate and negotiate with vendors to implement best-in-class data management and governance platforms and tools.
- Lead Global Teams
- Manage data product teams across the US and India, fostering collaboration, innovation and high performance.
- Lead data product teams through strategic decision making to solve complex issues that enable team to deliver high-risk projects that enhance data governance capabilities across platforms.
- Technical Leadership
- Ensure robust data quality, discovery, and AI-driven productivity tooling across the enterprise.
- Oversee integration of metadata, lineage, and governance platforms (e.g., Collibra, Informatica EDC/Axon).
- Drive adoption of cloud ecosystems (Azure, AWS, GCP) and advanced data platforms like Snowflake and Databricks.
- 8+ years of data product or data management or leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of management or leadership experience
- Expertise in data management tools, data governance, automation frameworks, and cloud platforms.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and data management risk management principles.
- Product mindset with deep knowledge of Agile development practices.
- Metadata, lineage, and governance platforms (e.g., Collibra, Informatica EDC/Axon, Alation, Solidatus).
- Cloud and data ecosystems (Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Purview).
- Data quality and discovery tools (Informatica IDQ, Ataccama, BigID, MANTA).
- AI & productivity tooling (Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Enterprise).
- Master & reference data platforms (Informatica MDM, Reltio, Semarchy).
- Data virtualization & integration technologies (Denodo, MuleSoft, Fivetran).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment while balancing multiple priorities.

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$185,000.00 - $300,000.00
