The Role

As Head of Engineering, you will define and drive the technical vision associated with the application/applicative layer of the Tezos ecosystem. You’ll lead teams building end user product (dApps), developer experience tooling and infrastructure that bring blockchain technology to life for developers and end users.

Overseeing an engineering function of around 35 people, you’ll drive product centric solutions owning products including Uranium.io, a decentralised marketplace for tokenised uranium and Umami a key wallet product.

Working closely with the Tezos Co-Founder and the broader leadership team, you’ll shape the roadmap for application-layer development, champion engineering excellence, and ensure the Tezos is the most robust and accessible foundation for building real-world blockchain products.

What you’ll do

• Define and execute the engineering strategy in line with the Tezos roadmap and broader business objectives.

• Lead with product focus working hand‑in‑hand with Product, Design, and Commercial leaders to build solutions that solve real user problems.

• Provide strategic direction and coaching, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and speed.

• Champion delivery focus and general operational and executional excellence whilst being rigorously customer centric

• Stay on top of emerging technologies and trends within the blockchain and cryptocurrency space, selecting technologies and tools to optimise performance and scalability

• Establish and enforce data-driven quality standards and best practices for software development, including code reviews, testing, and performance monitoring

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise development processes, tools, and methodologies.

• Own the management of resources, budgets, and timelines effectively

What you’ll need

• A strong technical foundation: You’ve been a Senior/Staff/Principal Engineer and still want to solve complex technical problems.

• Experience managing engineering teams

• A passion and track record of building products end users love

• Experience leading large complex projects with the ability to prioritise effectively and deliver quality solutions within deadlines

• Experience in the blockchain space is ideal, but a genuine passion and curiosity works too.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
