Role Overview
The Head of Engineering will be
responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across
engineering and technical services, ensuring high standards of facility
reliability, asset performance, safety, compliance, cost efficiency and client
satisfaction. The role will lead regional/multi-site engineering operations
across commercial, IT/ITES, data center, industrial, retail and other critical
environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end engineering operations across
multiple facilities/sites, ensuring uninterrupted and reliable technical
services.
- Own the performance of MEP, HVAC, electrical,
DG, BMS, fire & life safety, utilities and other critical engineering
systems.
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive and
breakdown maintenance strategies to maximize asset uptime and lifecycle
performance.
- Drive technical audits, engineering governance,
SOP implementation, process standardization and operational excellence across sites.
- Lead transition of new facilities/projects from
construction or project stage into steady-state operations.
- Manage engineering budgets, including OPEX,
CAPEX, AMC, procurement and cost optimization, while ensuring
commercial discipline.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, HSE
standards, fire & life safety norms, environmental requirements and
applicable ISO standards.
- Lead technical teams through recruitment,
capability development, training, performance management and succession
planning.
- Manage engineering vendors, OEMs, contractors and
service partners, including RFPs, tendering, negotiations, AMC
finalization and performance governance.
- Act as the senior technical interface for key
clients and stakeholders, driving governance reviews, service improvement and
customer satisfaction.
- Support business development through technical
solutions, transition planning, solution design, estimation and
operational inputs for new opportunities.
- Establish engineering KPIs, dashboards and
reporting mechanisms to monitor asset performance, SLA adherence, energy
consumption, downtime and service quality.
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive
actions for recurring technical failures.
- Liaise with government authorities, statutory
bodies, consultants and external agencies wherever required.

Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in Engineering,
Facilities Management, IFM, Property/Asset Management or Technical
Operations.
- Strong experience managing multi-site / regional
engineering operations with large and technically complex facilities.
- Proven exposure to IT/ITES, commercial,
industrial, data center, retail, pharma or other critical environments.
- Strong understanding of MEP systems, asset
management, maintenance engineering, projects and statutory compliance.
- Engineering degree, preferably
Electrical/Mechanical, with relevant professional certifications in
Facilities/Engineering/ISO/HSE being advantageous.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation,
client management and strategic decision-making capabilities.
Skills Required
- 15+ years of experience in Engineering, Facilities Management, IFM, Property or Asset Management, or Technical Operations
- Experience managing multi-site or regional engineering operations across large, technically complex facilities
- Exposure to IT/ITES, commercial, industrial, data center, retail, pharma or other critical environments
- Strong understanding of MEP systems, asset management, maintenance engineering, projects and statutory compliance
- Engineering degree, preferably in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Professional certifications in Facilities, Engineering, ISO or HSE
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, client management and strategic decision-making capabilities
