The Role

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and hands on Head of Engineering Services to lead our regional engineering teams across the Nordics, Germany, and the UK. This role combines active field engineering involvement with people leadership and is focused on the direct delivery of complex measurement projects. You will spend a significant portion of your time on customer sites, supporting project execution, resolving technical challenges, and acting as a senior engineering authority for key customers.

In parallel, you will lead and develop a small regional team of 5 field engineers ensuring consistent delivery standards, strong technical capability, and high levels of customer satisfaction. Reporting to the Director of Engineering Services within the Process Solutions division, you will help shape Engineering Services across the region through practical, delivery‑focused leadership rather than remote oversight.

With engineers based across Europe, this role requires close collaboration with international teams and frequent direct customer interaction. Regular travel (typically 30–50%) is essential. This is not a desk‑based role. We are specifically looking for a senior leader who leads from the front, remains technically engaged, and is comfortable spending substantial time in the field alongside customers and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a regional team of engineers across multiple European locations, fostering collaboration, engagement, and operational discipline.

  • Drive the project management of large-scale measurement projects—both offshore and onshore from planning to execution and reporting.

  • Support delivery of field measurement activities, including instrumentation, system installation, and technical documentation.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers in the electrical measurement of mechanical quantities, software, and hardware applications.

  • Prepare compelling, accurate customer proposals and participate in commercial discussions.

  • Partner closely with the Sales teams to identify opportunities, support pursuits, and optimize customer outcomes.

  • Monitor and report on market trends, emerging technologies, and opportunities impacting HBK’s position.

  • Provide timely, efficient responses to customer needs and escalations.

  • Deliver monthly reporting on team performance, project progress, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Professional Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.

  • Proven leadership experience in technical, engineering, or project environments, ideally across multiple countries.

  • Strong background in field measurement, instrumentation, engineering services, or comparable technical domains.

  • Solid understanding of MS Windows, software installation processes, driver management, and MS Office tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead effectively through change and transformation.

  • Strong cross-cultural communication and experience working in globally distributed teams.

  • A customer-first, sales-oriented mindset with the ability to translate technical insight into customer value.

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Norwegian.

  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% across the region.

What We Offer

At HBK, we believe in freedom with responsibility, enabling a healthy work-life balance and continuous professional development. You will join an international team in an innovative and enjoyable working environment.
