Functional (job responsibilities)
  • Format Portfolio Optimization: Architect and execute a multi-format physical network strategy that balances high-cost traditional branches against flexible, agile formats like Meet@HLB and Non-Cash Service Hubs (SAH) to ensure maximum community reach at optimal unit economics.
  • Meet@HLB Scaling: Mastermind the end-to-end site identification, micro-market viability mapping, and rapid deployment of Meet@HLB formats within community hubs (e.g., lifestyle malls, grocers, residential corridors) to capture local footfall.
  • Speed-to-Market Management: Drive the cross-functional project pipeline to achieve an aggressive 4-month launch timeline for new Meet@HLB locations compared to the standard 9-month traditional delivery cycle.
  • Legacy Footprint Remodeling (SAH): Identify underperforming branches experiencing regulatory or community amalgamation deadlocks. Re-engineer their operating structures by eliminating manual teller/vault cost canters and re-profiling them into lean, service digital hubs.
  • Phygital Service Integration: Collaborate with digital banking teams to ensure that automated 24/7 Self-Service Kiosks, and paperless in-branch tablet architectures deliver 88% of traditional branch service capabilities flawlessly.
  • CAPEX & CIR Governance: Establish strict financial modelling guardrails to hit unit-economic targets.
Managerial (team/group responsibilities)
  • Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management: Fulfill the role of primary strategic liaison, bridging the gaps between Business Channel Management, Corporate Real Estate (CRE), Group Procurement, Risk, Compliance, and Frontline Sales Heads.
Organizational (organizational responsibilities)
  • Responsibility to our franchise - put HLB’s long term interests ahead of each unit’s short-term gains.

Education/Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Real Estate Management, Spatial Analytics, Urban Planning, or a heavily quantitative discipline.

Experience/Requirements

  • Minimum of 10–12 years of progressive experience in Network Strategy, Retail Site Expansion, or Distribution Ecosystem Design.
  • Industry Cross-Over Background: Highly preferred to have senior-level network strategy exposure within the Telecommunications sector (e.g., retail store footprint optimization/network localization) or Tier-1 FMCG/Property Retail Groups.
  • Proven track record of managing massive capital expenditure (CAPEX) models and driving network restructuring programs yielding >30% operational cost efficiencies.

Special Skills

  • High proficiency in location intelligence software, geospatial analytics, and demographic data modeling tools.
  • Deep knowledge of retail banking unit economics, asset optimization parameters, and the mechanics of branch profit-and-loss (P&L) dynamics.
  • Strong negotiations and executive presentation skills necessary to influence senior management steering committees.
