Meet Your Future Neighbors

Nextdoor’s Sales team is a diverse, driven, and strategic group of salespeople focused on connecting brands with our community of neighbors through our growing portfolio of advertising products. The team culture mirrors the larger business focus, relying on building trusted relationships both internally as well as with our partners. The Sales team drives results for its brand partners while creating neighbor value. We're a purpose-driven company and we're recruiting like-minded sales professionals who are as passionate about customer value as they are professional growth, and building a culture of belonging.

At Nextdoor, we operate in an AI-first environment and expect every team member to actively use AI tools as part of their workflow. We aren't looking for prompt engineers; we’re looking for people who use tools like Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, and Glean to challenge their own thinking and take full ownership of AI-assisted outputs.

We also offer a warm and inclusive work environment that embraces a hybrid employment model, blending an in office presence and work from home experience for our valued employees. The hiring team will go over these expectations with you if you are being considered for a role near one of our offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, New York, and London.

The Impact You’ll Make

This is a rare chance to own the East Coast. As Head of East Coast Sales, you'll be a senior leader on Nextdoor's Sales leadership team, responsible for the full go-to-market motion across your region. You'll set the vision, build the team, and drive the revenue — while playing a meaningful role in shaping how Nextdoor shows up in the market nationally.

This role is for a builder: someone who knows how to scale a high-performing sales organization, earns trust with marquee clients, and thrives in a fast-moving, purpose-driven company.

What you’ll own:

Regional Revenue & Growth:

  • Own and exceed revenue targets across the East Coast, driving growth with both new and existing advertisers
  • Develop and execute the regional go-to-market strategy, identifying high-potential verticals, accounts, and market opportunities
  • Serve as executive sponsor on strategic client relationships, partnering directly with senior marketing leaders at top brands and agencies

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and scale a team of 8–12 Client Partners and managers, building a culture of accountability, ambition, and growth
  • Attract and retain top sales talent; build the bench for future leadership roles
  • Establish a high-performance operating rhythm — pipeline reviews, forecasting, deal strategy, and skill development — that drives consistent execution

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with Product, Marketing, and Sales Ops to influence roadmap priorities, launch new products, and sharpen Nextdoor's East Coast market positioning
  • Feed customer and competitive insights into the company's planning process — your region will be a signal for the business
  • Collaborate with the Head of West Coast and Mid West Sales to ensure cohesive national strategy and shared best practices

Culture & Community

  • Model and reinforce Nextdoor's KIND culture — in how you lead your team, engage with clients, and show up in the business
  • Participate in in-person events, off-sites, and community initiatives that reflect our mission
What You’ll Bring To The Team
  • 15+ years of experience in digital media or advertising sales, with a consistent record of exceeding targets in high-growth environments, and/or the ability to perform at an advanced level in the domain
  • 6+ years of sales leadership experience, including managing managers
  • Proven track record building and scaling regional or national sales teams from the ground up or through a period of significant growth
  • Deep relationships across the East Coast brand and agency ecosystem
  • Strategic thinker who can connect customer needs to product solutions and translate that into a winning go-to-market plan
  • Executive presence and communication skills — comfortable in the boardroom with a CMO or on a whiteboard with your team
  • Strong analytical orientation; you use data to diagnose problems, forecast accurately, and coach effectively
  • Genuine passion for local community and belief in Nextdoor's mission
Rewards

Compensation, benefits, perks, and recognition programs at Nextdoor come together to create our total rewards package. Compensation will vary depending on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.

The compensation range for this role includes a base salary + commission structure with a 60/40 split. Commission will vary depending on your achievement of sales-related goals and objectives. The budgeted OTE (on-target earnings) inclusive of base + commission is in the range of $360,000-$450,000 (base salary of $216,000-$270,000) on an annualized basis.

What We Do

Nextdoor is where neighborhoods happen — and connections are made. Nextdoor connects neighbors to each other — and to everything nearby: Local businesses, services, news updates, recommendations and stuff for sale from the people down the block. Building connections in the real world is a universal human need. That truth, and the reality that neighborhoods are among the most important communities in our lives, have been guiding principles for Nextdoor since the beginning. Neighbors around the world rely on Nextdoor to: - Recommend and discover local restaurants and shops - Buy and sell gently used furniture and other goods - Spread the word about a lost or found (!) pet - Help neighbors with grocery runs or pharmacy pickups - Meet neighbors over a cup of coffee or organize a walking group - Stay up on the latest safety news from local public agencies
