Teach the World, a non-profit organization dedicated to building functional literacy for K-5 students from underserved areas in developing countries, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Head/Director of Marketing. This position will be responsible for driving marketing initiatives, managing internal and external communications with key stakeholders, maintaining the organization's digital presence, overseeing public relations efforts, and supporting the Head of Fundraising in expanding the donor base. The Head/Director of Marketing will play a crucial role in raising awareness, engaging stakeholders, and cultivating partnerships to support the organization's mission. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in marketing, communications, and public relations, and a passion for education and social impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy and Execution:
Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to raise awareness of Teach the World's programs and initiatives.
Create compelling marketing campaigns and materials to engage target audiences, including board members, donors, partner organizations, and the general public.
Coordinate and execute marketing activities across various channels, such as social media, email marketing, digital advertising, and events.
Internal and External Communications:
Manage internal and external communications, ensuring consistent messaging and branding.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including board members, donors, partner organizations, and the media.
Coordinate the creation and dissemination of communications materials, such as press releases, newsletters, reports, and website content.
Digital Presence and Social Media Management:
Oversee the organization's digital presence, including website updates, content creation, and SEO optimization.
Develop and implement social media strategies to enhance brand awareness, engage followers, and drive website traffic.
Monitor and analyze social media metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven recommendations.
Public Relations and Media Outreach:
Build and maintain relationships with media outlets and journalists to secure coverage and raise awareness of Teach the World's initiatives.
Develop and distribute press releases, media kits, and other materials to maximize media exposure.
Coordinate media interviews, press conferences, and media events to highlight the organization's impact.
Donor Base Expansion and Support:
Collaborate with the wider team to support donor acquisition and retention strategies.
Assist in creating fundraising materials and campaigns to attract and engage partners, e.g donors, volunteers, implementation partners, etc.
Provide communications support for fundraising initiatives, such as donor communications, fundraising events, and grant proposals.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
Minimum 4 years of proven experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or a similar role, preferably in the non-profit sector.
Strong strategic thinking and the ability to develop and execute marketing and communications plans.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
Experience in managing digital marketing campaigns and utilizing social media platforms for engagement.
Strong networking and relationship-building skills to engage stakeholders and media contacts.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
