Digital Ethics & Compliance (DE&C)is part of E&C organization and focuses on what the organization needs by ensuring:

DE&C Team addresses digital, data and compliance risks by:

  • Providing a RE&C framework, SOP and other tools that supports GD&T organization to incorporate Ethics and Privacy by Design in their Data and Technology programs and platforms.
  • Deploying the Global E&C Programs towards strengthening Takeda Ethical culture, Risk Management and Regulatory compliance.
  • Acting as a E&C authority, trusted partner, and collaborator to ensure all digital operations are compliant and ethical, while also leveraging the latest technologies to drive innovation and growth.
  • Works with BU/BFs and GD&T to ensure that data and digital technologies are embedding ethics and compliance in the design on the products and platforms.


ABOUT THE ROLE:
The main responsibility of the Head of Digital E&C Program, Strategy & Governance will be to define and drive the execution of a program for Digital Ethics and Compliance, including the following:
Program Design and Implementation

  • Designing, implementing, and rolling out a global digital ethics & compliance strategy and program for Takeda primarily focusing on Data Privacy (DP) & AI as immediate need
  • Cross-Functional coordination and organization change management and communication to adopt the developed digital ethics and compliance programs.
  • Plan and help strategic evolution of technologies that enable digital ethics and compliance enablement. Responsible for DE&C portfolio tracking and KPIs reporting to senior management team.
  • Accountable for defining and providing measurable and significant inputs into E&C operational direction and strategy, as well as for successfully integrating these activities with those within Takeda overall.


Policies & Procedures

  • Creates policies & programs for digital ethics & compliance framework: This would involve developing and maintaining DP and AI policy, standard and guidelines.
  • Developing Ethics Risk and Control farmwork for the prioritized areas of DP and AI
  • Developing standards and guidelines to enable DB and AI by design to enable digital E&C scalability across Takeda.
  • Develop and maintain scalable DP and AI processes and supporting guidelines e.g., for Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA), Records of Processing (RoPA).


Monitoring & Risk Management

  • Responsible for developing risk management and monitoring strategies, and operating model for digital ethics and compliance areas (e.g., data privacy & AI).
  • Oversees and ensures that overall budgets, schedules, and performance standards are realistically set and attained.


Leadership

  • A global program leader for DE&C strategic and transformation program and as well as responsible for successfully integrating the outputs within Takeda BU/BFs.
  • Accountability for defining or providing measurable and significant input into and operational direction and strategy for E&C on data & digital transformation compliance matters.
  • Interacts closely the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), GGC team, Chief Data Officer, DPO and AIO.
  • Leading the DE&C organization change management and communication.
  • Conducts briefings on the global program to RECC (Risk, Ethics & Compliance Committee), GECLT (Global Ethics and Compliance Leadership Team).
  • Interacts with equivalent level managers concerning matters of significance to the company.
  • Responsible for the successful operation and delivery of activities of major impact to Takeda


The role will report to Global Head of DE&C.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 10 years of experience in the field of ethics, risk, and compliance with 4 years in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with designing, implementation and rollout of ethics and compliance programs end-to-end (preferably implementation on Data Privacy program).
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in law, DD&T, risk management, or project management related field.
  • Experience with agile ways of working and mindset to enable Tech Ethics and responsible innovation via ethics by design, compliance by design in the tech landscape/platforms.
  • Strong command of English language in both written and verbal form.
  • Strong familiarity with and experience of all the elements of an ethics and compliance program (e.g., policies, risk management, learning, monitoring, case management)
  • Strong business acumen and ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with laws, regulations and industry guidance that affect the pharmaceutical industry including IFPMA, EFPIA
  • Experience in managing potential, present and future ethics, compliance risks (Digital Compliance) related to Technology (Tech Ethics, AI Ethics, Data Ethics), including risk identification, controls & risk mitigation of potential non-compliance.
  • Experience in using ethical decision-making methods for relevant business decisions.
