Department Overview
 

As one of the world's largest investors in real estate, we own and operate iconic properties in the world's most dynamic markets. Our global portfolio includes office, retail, multifamily, logistics, hospitality, self-storage, triple net lease, manufactured housing and student housing assets on five continents.

Working directly with a wide range of real estate portfolio companies controlled by Brookfield including Center Parcs, Canary Wharf, SACO and other European investments held within Brookfield’s opportunistic private equity funds. The role will assist with the strategic decision making, investment activities and reporting activities of real estate companies owned by the BSREP III and BSREP IV series of opportunity funds. Brookfield’s active oversight portfolio companies, specifically in regard to major investment, divestment and financing decisions. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy for the logistics team in Europe, focusing on market and portfolio expansion, project oversight and delivery, and operational excellence.

  • Develop and implement building standards to ensure the delivery of high quality and market leading logistics space to our customers

  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of logistics development projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget while meeting quality standards.

  • Oversee external development partners in their planning, design and execution of logistics development projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget, meeting quality standards.

  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks in the logistics sector across Europe.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, local authorities, and internal teams, to facilitate successful project execution and collaboration.

  • Manage and mentor a team of development and construction professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for development projects, ensuring optimal resource allocation and return on investment.

  • Ensure all development activities comply with local regulations, environmental standards, and corporate policies including ESG and H&S standards.

  • Provide regular updates to senior management including other global regions on project progress, market developments, and strategic initiatives.

  • Attend and participate in quarterly board meetings for the companies, helping in preparation of materials where required.

  • Working closely with asset management teams to assist in the sourcing and maintaining of occupier/customer relationships with a target to secure new development and/or letting opportunities throughout Europe.

  • Working closely with investment teams to assess the financial viability of potential investment opportunities ranging from single asset acquisition and development opportunities to large portfolio and corporate transactions.

  • Writing investment committee memoranda and presenting investment recommendations

  • Supporting investment teams on all aspects of transactions

Technical Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in logistics development or project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within Europe.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of the logistics and supply chain industry, including market trends, regulations, and best practices.

  • Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.

  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.

  • Strong technical, mathematical and analytical skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal

  • Project planning and self-management skills

  • Team player, passionate about career in real estate investment

  • Proficiency in full suite of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
