The Role

Note: The nature of this role requires candidates to be based in the San Francisco Bay Area or New York City, though there isn't an in-office requirement.

We are seeking a strategic and visionary Head of Developer Relations to lead and expand our global developer engagement initiatives. Your role is pivotal in shaping the voice of Arize AI within the developer community, fostering relationships, and driving the adoption of our AI observability tools. You are a data-driven creative who thrives in ideating and delivering on novel activities that earn the attention and trust of AI/ML practitioners, and a self-learner who isn’t daunted by technical complexity and welcomes the challenge to develop their own POV.

What You’ll Do 
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive developer relations strategy aligned with Arize AI's business objectives.
  • Team Management: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing Developer Relations team, including Developer Advocates and Community Managers.
  • Community Engagement: Cultivate and grow a vibrant developer community through events, forums, and social media.
  • Content Oversight: Oversee the creation of technical content, including blogs, tutorials, and webinars, to educate and inspire developers.
  • Product Collaboration: Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to relay developer feedback and influence product roadmap.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Establish KPIs to measure the effectiveness of developer relations initiatives and report on progress to stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in Developer Relations, Developer Advocacy, or related roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
  • Strong technical background with knowledge of AI/ML, LLMs, and related technologies.
  • Proven track record of building and nurturing developer communities via GitHub, Medium, DZone, Stack Overflow, Reddit, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Marketing.
  • Ability to analyze data to drive decisions and measure success.
  • Experience with open-source projects and contributions.
  • Familiarity with developer tools and platforms.
  • Background in AI observability or related fields.

The estimated annual salary for this role is between $200,000 - $225,000, plus a competitive equity package. Actual compensation is determined based upon a variety of job related factors that may include: transferable work experience, skill sets, and qualifications. Total compensation also includes a comprehensive benefit package, including: medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, unlimited paid time off, generous parental leave plan, and others for mental and wellness support.

While we are a remote-first company, we have opened offices in New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area, as an option for those in those cities who wish to work in-person. For all other employees, there is a WFH monthly stipend to pay for co-working spaces.
