About the Role

As Head of Design, you’ll shape the look, feel, and usability of all our surfaces, from the mobile app to the telehealth experience. You’ll lead a small but growing design team, set the bar for design excellence, and ensure every interaction reflects empathy, trust, and clarity. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll balance high-level vision with rolling up your sleeves to design alongside your team.

Key Responsibilities

• Own design across all surfaces: Define and uphold a cohesive design system and user experience across mobile, web, and telehealth.
• Lead and grow the design team: Manage, mentor, and inspire a small team of product designers, fostering a culture of craft, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Elevate the user experience: Partner with product, engineering, and clinical teams to translate complex healthcare workflows into simple, intuitive interfaces that build trust with patients and providers.
• Drive the design process: Set standards for research, prototyping, visual design, and usability testing to ensure product decisions are grounded in both creativity and evidence.
• Be hands-on: Contribute directly to product design where needed, especially in early iterations or high-stakes features.
• Champion design at the company level: Advocate for design thinking in strategy discussions and ensure the user voice is central to decision-making.

We’d love to hear from you if...

• Bring 8+ years of professional design experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role managing designers.
• Have a portfolio that demonstrates exceptional design sense across mobile and web products, ideally including consumer-facing experiences.
• Have led design in a startup or high-growth environment, balancing speed with thoughtful craft.
• Are comfortable working cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and clinicians to tackle ambiguous problems.
• Thrive in hands-on leadership - setting vision while also diving into the details when needed.
• Care deeply about usability, accessibility, and trust, especially in health-related experiences.

• The base pay range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000 per year
